Taiwan's retired general Kao An-kuo (高安國) uploaded a video in which he calls on Taiwan's military to overthrow the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) government and surrender to China. He says that when 'D-Day' comes, Taiwan's armed forces must join with Taiwan's pro-unification elements.

What the general is insisting is arguably one of the most effective and realistic ways to accomplish the unification of China and Taiwan.
If Taiwan's military overthrows the DPP government and joins with pro-unification forces, Taiwan can avoid a large number of casualties and total destruction of cities and towns that would occur in case of China's forceful unification with Taiwan.

General Kao alleged that Taiwan's surge in COVID cases was a result of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) blocking the import of vaccines at source and "attempting to use the vaccine to extort money for votes."
He accused the Taiwan government of slandering China and "maliciously rejecting the mainland vaccine." He claimed the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is no longer the version seen in the 1950s and '60s and called on "brothers from the three armed services" to show "loyalty and filial piety" to China.
He added "the time is right" for generals leading the three branches of Taiwan's military to "stand up and set things right." Kao alleged that Taiwan's "hard-won democracy and freedom have been destroyed by the DPP."

I do hope that the majority of Taiwan's generals follow the calling of General Kao.
If Taiwan's military overthrows the DPP government, the US forces, Japanese forces, British forces or any foreign forces would never be able to intervene because it is Taiwan's internal affair.

Also, in this case, the unification would be accomplished not through China's military operations but Taiwan military's overthrowing the DPP government and joining with Taiwan's pro-unification elements. Therefore the U.S. and European countries would not be able to find a basis to impose punitive sanctions against China.
A DPP legislator accuses General Kao and says that the general has committed a treason. The legislator says that the general should be prosecuted for violating the National Security Act. However, if the general is prosecuted, he would speak up even more loudly in the court to incite Taiwan's military to overthrow the DPP government.
After Taiwan's military and Taiwan's pro-unification elements overthrow the DPP government and establish a new government, they can start a talk with China to accomplish the unification of China and Taiwan.
Or, even before 'D-Day' comes, Taiwan's military can overthrow the DPP government, which is generally called a coup.

How much China's operatives and agents permeate Taiwan's military is unknown. However, there is no doubt that they are active within Taiwan's military forces including Taiwan's generals.
In the 7th century, China under the Tang (唐) dynasty conquered Korean Peninsula by being allied with Silla (新羅), one of three kingdoms in Korean Peninsula, and subjugating other two kingdoms, Goguryeo (高句麗) and Baekje (百濟). The same method can be used by China to accomplish the unification with Taiwan. If Taiwan's military overthrow the DPP government and join with pro-reunification forces to establish a new government, China would be able to accomplish the unification with Taiwan in the most cost-effective (both human & monetary), peaceful and effective way, with preventing US military intervention.
China's legendary military strategist, Sun Tzu said, "The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting." If Taiwan's military overthrows the DPP government and joins with Taiwan's pro-unification elements to establish a new government, China would subdue DPP without fighting.
