China seeks for peace. China's military is only for defense purpose.
However, at the same time, China doesn't want to see US military bases existing near her territory forever.
So what China will do? China will defeat US military with fighting. Let me explain.

1. A skirmish between military vessels escalates to a major conflict
In the year 202X, the bubble of Japanese stock market bursts and Japan comes to suffer the severest depression. A hawkish right-wing government is formed in Japan and starts blaming China to divert the people's attention.
Japan decides to join the US operation of freedom of navigation and sends military ships to the South China Sea.
When USS John S. McCain (DDG-56), JS Kirisame (DD-104), and HMAS Arunta (FFH-151) sail together in the South China Sea, the Chinese military facility on the Spratly Islands directs a radar beam of anti-ship missiles to the vessels.

Alarmed by the radar beam and mistaking that the attack is imminent, a young captain of the Australian frigate Arunta orders to attack the Chinese radar dome with ship-to-ground missiles. The radar dome is destroyed.
The Chinese military facility decides to strike back and launches anti-ship missiles to the Australian frigate and the Japanese destroyer. The frigate is sunk and the destroyer is damaged. The US destroyer refrains from attacking, concerned of escalation of the conflict.

After the incident, both the Australian and Japanese governments criticize the US government for ignoring the obligation to protect the allied vessels. The American people also demand the government to punish China.
Accordingly, the President of the U.S. decides to attack the Chinese military facilities on islands of the South China Sea and sends out two Ohio class cruise missile submarines (SSGNs) for the mission.

USS Ohio (SSGN-726) and USS Michigan (SSGN-727) pound the Chinese military facilities on Fiery Cross Reef with hundreds of cruise missiles and wipe out the structures completely, killing not only Chinese military personnel but Chinese civilians of the medical and educational services.

2. China's retaliatory attack on "islands" and Japan's separate peace talk
The Chinese government declares that this is the gravest infringement of Chinese sovereignty and territorial integrity and announces that, in retaliation of the US attack against the Chinese military facilities on an island, China will launch a limited attack against the US military facilities only located on "islands" and that, if the US should attack the Chinese mainland, China will make an all-out attack against the US mainland.

30 minutes after the announcement, China starts an attack against the US military bases on the Japanese "islands" and Guam "island" with DF-21 and DF-26 ballistic missiles. The missiles hit and damage the US naval bases Yokosuka and Sasebo and the US air bases Yokota, Kadena and Iwakuni among others.
Also, due to the probability of being used by the US military forces as supplemental bases, China attacks Japanese military bases as well including Kure and Maizuru naval bases and Omura and Kanoya air bases among others.

Expecting the Chinese missile attack, most of the US surface ships including an aircraft carrier and military airplanes evacuated from the US bases before the attack. But, the command centers, communication centers, fuel tanks and other military facilities are destroyed. Also, runways of air bases are severely damaged.
As a result of that, the US naval operation is limited to those of submarine fleets, and the US air operation is limited to those of small numbers of aircraft.
Japan is inflicted with serious damages. Her naval bases and air bases in the Western Japan are destroyed and damaged. More than 20% of Japanese military vessels are sunk or severely damaged by DF-100 Chinese hypersonic anti-ship cruise missiles.

More than 90% of the Japanese population demand a separate peace talk with China. The hawkish cabinet of Japan resigns and a peaceful new cabinet is formed. The new Japanese government signs a peace treaty with China in which Japan admits China's sovereignty over Taiwan.
As the treaty is signed in Shimonoseki, Japan, it's called the 2nd Treaty of Shimonoseki after the 1st Treaty of Shimonoseki signed by the Empire of Japan and Qing China in 1895, which ended the First Sino-Japanese War and transferred Taiwan to Japan.

3. China's reunification of Taiwan by force
Given the situation of the US incapability of major military operations in East Asia, China embarks on an amphibious landing operation against Taiwan in order to accomplish the unification of Taiwan by force.

Hundreds of Chinese assault carriers, landing ships, destroyers, frigates, and corvettes converge off Taiwan, supported by aircraft carrier battle groups. Dozens of Chinese diesel submarines patrol the area to repel US submarine attacks.

The US surface ships can not come close to Taiwan because of fear of being attacked by ballistic missiles. So, the U.S. sends out cruise missile attack submarines to hamper the Chinese landing operation. USS Texas (SSN-775), USS Hawaii (SSN-776), USS North Carolina (SSN-777) and USS Missouri (SSN-780) are put into the operation.

US cruise missile attack submarines carry out sporadic attacks by launching cruise missiles to the Chinese fleets. However, as China applies acoustic jamming operations using undersea unmanned vehicles, some US submarines' navigation systems are disrupted. Being paralyzed, some US submarines collide with undersea mountains or go aground.

Also, due to Chinese anti-submarine warfare operations using sea-mines, missile-torpedoes and helicopter-launched torpedoes, US submarines are under constant serious danger. Faced with the peril of annihilation, US submarines are ordered to withdraw.

A plan of sending the US Marines and the Japanese Amphibious Rapid Deployment Brigade to Taiwan is discussed by the US and Japanese military. However, without air cover, ocean transport of the troops is suicidal. The plan of sending the US and Japanese troops to Taiwan is abandoned.
The US Congress comes to a conclusion that further escalation of the conflict may lead to a nuclear war between the U.S. and China and declares that the US military intervention is ceased.

Without US military support and having consumed up strategic oil storage, Taiwan government surrenders to China after 1 month of resistance.
Taiwan becomes the 35th Chinese province. Chinese military vessels and aircraft start to station in Taiwan. China's military projection extends to the Western and South Pacific.

Recognizing that China becomes responsible to the peace and stability of the East Asia and the Western and South Pacific, Japan decides to withdraw from the US-Japan Security Treaty. Japan declares to be an armed neutrality nation and joins the newly established Asian collective security organization.
Thank you.
