According to news reports, Iranian frigates and freighters are approaching Yemen to supply weapons to Houthi rebels in Yemen. Houthi rebels are Shia Moslems. Iran has the largest number of Shia Moslims in the world.

The U.S. has sent the USS Theodore Roosevelt, a Nimitz class aircraft carrier, to conduct reconnaissance to monitor all maritime traffic moving through the area. The deployment of the USS Theodore Roosevelt comes after a U.N. Security Council resolution approved last week imposed an arms embargo on rebel leaders in Yemen. The resolution passed in a 14-0 vote with Russia abstaining.

Also, military vessels of Sunni Moslems from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and others are staying near Yemen to block the Iranian fleet to reach Yemen. Saudi Arabia has been supporting Yemen's Sunni Moslem government. Saudi Arabia has been supporting Sunni militants, including the Islamic State group in Syria and Iraq too.

So, it looks like a sea battle over religious confrontation and oil & gas control might be imminent. If a naval clash happens, it would affect prices of oil & gas and have negative impacts on capital markets of the world.
Given remarkable cost-reduction of renewable energies, a bloody struggle over oil & gas in the Middle East is ludicrous at best.
Shia Moslems and Sunni Moslems are living together harmoniously in other areas. For example, Indonesia, the largest Moslem country in the world with 170 million Moslems, is a modest democratic country where, under the pluralist state ideology "Pancasila", Moslem majority (Sunni) are living together with Moslem minority (Shia), Christians, and Hindus.
Currently, nations are casually using military forces, conducting air-bombardment and sending aircraft carriers against terrorism threats and military confrontation in the Middle East. There cannot be seen diligent efforts to solve terrorism and military confrontation through diplomacy, ensuring stable people's lives, protecting minority rights, and allowing minorities to participate in politics.
Only solution for terrorism and military confrontation is a political solution.
Thank you.
