Years ago, I had opportunities to study national security, democracy, and law in graduate schools in Boston.
In the past years, I put on a shelf my knowledge on national security while I was concentrating upon promoting renewable energies.
However, given the growing contingencies in the East Asia., the knowkedge of national security may have to be re-activated.
At the class of international relations, the first thing that we learn is about idealism and realism.
For me, promoting renewable energies represents idealism. It extends democracy and world peace.
On the other hand, in the area of national security, you have to be realistic. You are not allowed to be optimistic nor have wishful thinking.
The objective of national security is to preserve peace and protect the people's lives, rights, and freedoms. The objective of national security is not destroying belligerents.
Therefore, national security includes not only military affairs, but diplomacy and intelligence operations as well.
The most important concept in the area of national security is balance of power. When balance of power is maintained including a security alliance, peace is preserved. If balance of power is lost, it may well lead to military conflicts.
Peace in the East Asia is imperative for renewable energy industries.
People in the East Asia should do everything to preserve peace in the region. It's their responsibility to the mankind.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. (Matthew 5:9)

私にとって、再生可能エネルギーの普及は、理想主義に基づきます。それは、民主主義と世界平和を拡大します。
一方、国家安全保障は、現実主義に基づきます。楽観的・希望的な発想は出来ません。
国家安全保障の目的は、平和を維持し、人々の生命・権利・自由を守ることです。国家安全保障の目的は、敵を殲滅することではありません。
そのため、国家安全保障は、軍事だけでなく、外交、諜報も含まれます。
国家安全保障において、もっとも重要な概念は、バランス・オブ・パワーです。同盟関係を含め、バランス・オブ・パワーが維持されていると平和が保たれます。バランス・オブ・パワーが失われると、軍事的交戦の可能性が高まります。
東アジアの平和は、再生可能エネルギー産業にとって、きわめて重要です。
東アジアの人々は、地域の平和を守るため、あらゆることを行なうべきです。それが、人類への責任です。
