There are some criticism against a carbon tax, arguing that imposing a carbon tax would undermine a nation's international competitiveness. They argue that imposing a carbon tax unilaterally would increase the cost of manufacturing and benefit other nations without a carbon tax.

However, a carbon tax's potential negative impacts on a nation's international competitiveness should not be a reason to abandon the idea of a carbon tax. Rather, it is the very reason why more international collaboration among nations such as an international tax cartel is crucial in implementing a carbon tax.

After all, the climate change is a global issue and as such requires a global solution through collaboration of nations' governments and the people of the world.

The very process of tackling the climate change will enhance a democratic nature of the world politics and strengthen the ties of the world people as the mankind.

Thank you.
