お昼休みに、香港で深刻な火災が発生したというニュースを見て、家族の様子を知りたいというイギリス人の友人から音声メッセージが届きました。
メッセージを聞いた後、すぐに自分でもニュースを調べました。火災現場は私の家族が住んでいる場所から遠く離れているため、家族は無事でしたが、起きた出来事に深いショックを受けました。私はその報告を読みながら、ほとんど信じられず泣きそうになりました。
火は10時間燃え続けていますが、まだ消えていません。これまでに44人が亡くなっており、その数が増えないことを切に願っています。この悲劇の影響を受けている4,600人の住民と共に祈っています。
At lunchtime, I received an audio message from a local British friend who had seen the news about a serious fire in Hong Kong and wanted to check on my family.
After listening, I immediately looked up the news myself. Although the fire location is far from my family lives, so they are safe, I was deeply shocked by what happened. I could hardly believe it and nearly cried while reading the report.
The fire has been burning for 10 hours and still hasn’t been put out. So far, 44 people have died, and I desperately hope that number does not rise. I am praying with 4,600 residents affected by this tragedy.
