71. Which would you choose – high paying job with long hours that would give you little time with family and friends or a lower-paying job with shorter hours that would give you more time with family and friends? Explain your choice, using specific reasons and details.

While some people choose jobs in which they can get higher income with longer working hours that would give them little leisure time with their family and friends, I prefer to select jobs in which I get just lower income with shorter working hours that would me more leisure time with my family and friends.

One advantage of choosing lower paying job with shorter hours that would give me more time with my family and friends is that I can enjoy my life very much using much free time. For example, last Sunday, my wife and I went to climb up Mt. Takao, which is one of the highest mountains in Tokyo. When we were climbing it, we had to go through unpaved roads, because it is the only road to go to climb the peak of the mountain. Some of dirt roads are particularly difficult to go through, so we helped each other go over. Finally, after we got over the difficulties, we could reach the top of Mt. Takao. Not to mention the majestic view from the top of the mountain, I became very glad to climb with my wife and appreciated that she is always with me.

On the other hand, one advantage of choosing higher paying job with longer hours that would give me little time with my family and friends is that I can give my wife whatever she wants. For instance, my wife loves to have French cuisine. Generally speaking, however, it costs one hundred dollars to have French cuisine. Moreover, French restaurant which is her favorite one is even higher than the restaurants above. If I get higher income, however, I can take her French restaurants at least 2 a month. Then, she must be glad to have so delicious French food and I must be also glad to see her joyful countenance.

Comparing both, I prefer to choose lower paying job with short hours that would give me more time with my family and friends. I cannot live without enough time to be with my wife. My wife is an only treasure of mine. In addition, even if I don’t give my wife whatever she wants, she would understand what I think and be satisfied with our ordinary, but warm life.

In conclusion, as I mentioned above, I prefer to choose lower paying job with short hours that would give me more time with my family and friends. I would think as a great deal of my wife as I always did.
