The calm before and after the storm

Hello all, this is Todd here!

This morning in Tokyo東京, there were many train delays because of the typhoon台風. Were you stuck at the station?

However in the afternoon, it turned out to be a beautiful day! The sun was out and blue skies!

Isn't it amazing how weather patterns can change so quickly from a dreadful typhoon to a peaceful sunny dayお天気サンサン? And also vice versa.

Today, I want to discuss the idiom "The calm before the storm."

There are many times just like the weather where there is a quiet period just before a period of great activity or excitement. I'm sure you must have experienced this before.

For example, back in elementary school, right before the 3:30 class bell rings, all the students are so quiet, impatiently looking at the clock. Once the bell ringsベル, it becomes madness and all the students are jumping out of their chairs and screaming out of class.

Or how about the times when there is a new bargain sale! All the shoppers are impatiently waiting by the doors. Once the doors are open, everyone pushes and barges their ways in to grab that limited time only Saleセール!
