【参考】
本曲に登場する"Meltdown"や"Engines stop running"という表現は、1979年3月のスリーマイル島の原発事故が念頭に置かれたもの（本曲の発表は1979年の11月）。
本曲を書いたJoe Strummerいわく、これを書いた当時は「爪を噛みながら、坂道を転げ落ちていきそうになるのを感じていた。誰も僕たちを助けてくれないんだって」。
