そんなわけで、前回LiveCDを作成するのにてこずったヽ(´A`)ノですが、
無事にCDの起動確認まではできました。その続きです。

前回のおさらい
  1. 2台のハードディスクを用意(当たり前か)。別に同じ容量でなくても構わない。ただ、その場合は少ない方の容量に合わせることになる(これも当然か)。

  2. 1台目のハードディスクにOSをインストールする

  3. LiveCDから起動
  4. sysinstall画面でFixit を選択し、Shellで起動。

  5. ミラーしたいディスクのデバイスを確認

  6. カーネルモジュール geom_mirror をロード

  7. ミラーリング・ボリュームの作成

  8. ミラーしたいディスクのデバイス名をミラーリング・ボリュームに追加

  9. ミラーボリュームのパーティションをマウント

  10. /boot/loader.conf にミラーの記述

  11. /etc/fstab の修正

  12. 再起動。今度はLiveCDからではなくハードディスクから立ち上げる

  13. 同期が成功したら状態監視を行う

次は4から。
LiveCDから起動するとキーボード選択の画面になるので、Keymapを「Japanese 106」にして日本語キーボードの選択しておきます。
sysinstall画面になったら、Fixitを選択。

前半の山場?を超えたので次からはサクサクと進めたいところ。
5.のミラーしたいディスクのデバイスを確認。
# atacontrol list

別にデバイス名だけわかればいいのでdmesgでgrepしてもいい。
カーネルモジュールをロードしなくてはいけないので、chrootしてからモジュールを読み込む。
# chroot /dist
Host# kldload geom_mirror
Host# exit

それからミラーのラベルを作成。
作り方は色々あるらしいが、ここでも一般的な方法で行う。
# gmirror label -vb round-robin gm0 ad4

うーん、参照してるサイトではうまくいってるのになぁ……。

もう少し調べると、GEOM関連の設定を変更するにはシステム環境を少し変更しなければならないらしい。
# sysctl kern.geom.debugflags=17

# gmirror label -vb round-robin gm0 ad4

このあと、手順どおりだと同期を取る設定になるんだけど、先にHDDから立ち上げてからの方が作業しやすそうなので、ミラーを始める前にまずは片方だけで起動できるようにします。
手順の番号でいうと、9番から。

# mount /dev/mirror/gm0s1a /mnt
# edit /mnt/etc/fstab

/varのtmpを利用するviは使えないので、editを使って編集。
上記のように編集してまずは再起動。
これで一つ目のHDDで立ち上がるはず……が、立ち上がってこない。
