The Little Mermaid(リトル・マーメイド)の挿入歌、Poor Unfortunate Souls(哀れな人々)の歌詞と和訳です。
作詞作曲はAlan Menken(アラン・メンケン)と Stephen Schwartz(ステファン・シュワルツ)のコンビ。アースラの声を演じたのは、Pat Carroll(パット・キャロル)。彼女はゲームのキングダムーハーツシリーズにもそのまま出演していて、そこでも歌声を披露していました。昔は単に怖い魔女の歌思っていたのですが、今見ると中々突っ込んだ歌詞で面白いです。
"You'll have your looks, your pretty face"以降の歌詞は多少大袈裟ではありますが、今以上に風刺・・・だと言い過ぎですが、所謂あるあるネタのようなことだったんだろうな、と思わせます。"And don't underestimate the importance of body language, ha!"なんて当然そういうことも含んだ表現でしょうし・・・。人形姫の声を奪われる設定を上手く使った歌詞ですよね。最初の二行は直前のやりとりです。
