Chapter 2. The Value Manager. p23-p45

今日読んだ章では、value manager(日本語訳は?)

According to this chapter, there are three aspects that a value manager should keep in mind. First, a value manager should focus on long-term cash flow rather than short-time earnings. Second, he or she should judge businesses by using clear measurement. Third, he or she has to instill the value creation philosophy throughout the corporation.

After reviewing six steps of the corporate strategy framework, a value manager takes further steps. For example, he or she sets value-oriented targets, performance measurement systems and new compensation systems and so on.

This chapter takes a brief look at how a value manager deals with the corporate value creation issues, which provides concrete image of the roles of a value manager. More detail techniques or concepts will be explained in subsequent chapters.
