Man collects old Apple devices 【Level 2】
私がまだ小学生のころ、家にはパソコンというものがなく、母に図書館まで連れて行ってもらって課題の調べものや印刷をしたものです。
中学生になったころ、重くて・大きなデスクトップ型のパソコンが家にやってきました。家族で共有して使うパソコンです。今のように、使い放題で携帯電話のネット回線を使うことができなかったので、私の父は家に帰ってきてからパソコンで興味のある分野を調べるのが日課になっていました。
近ごろではひとり一台が普通になり、コロナ以降はパソコンやタブレットを持っての授業参加が増えつつあります。今の学生からしたら、図書館で調べていた当時の私が滑稽に見えるかもしれないし、映えやスタイリッシュさを求める現代では、Apple-1の姿はとても衝撃的に見えるかもしれない。
しかしながら私は、記事の男性が言うように「古いコンピューターを見ると子供時代を思い出させてくれる」。そんな気がします。

Jimmy Grewal lives in Dubai and for all his life, Apple computers and devices have interested him(彼に興味を持たせる)
Grewal has a collection of about 200 Apple computers and accessories. Some of them are his own, and some of them are the ones which he wanted to have. Grewal said that the collection was special because when he looked at the old computers, if felt like looking at his own childhood.
Grewal said that some of the computers weren’t very good, and not many people bought them. Yet for Grewal, they were a sign that if you work hard, you’ll be successful one day.
He wants to sell some of his computers to make enough money to organize an exhibition.
