Q1: Tell us where your name came from!

Since my birthday on 11/30 just made it into autumn, and I was born in the autumn, they used 楓 (Kaede, for maple tree).

Q2: Which senpai do you aim to be like?

Former Morning Musume member Sayashi Riho-san. She's the person who made me want to join Morning Musume. Like how I admire Sayashi-san thinking "I want to become a person like that", I want myself to become someone admired by girls my own age.

Q3: Who would you want to be if you were born differently?

Former Morning Musume member Niigaki Risa-san. I like Niigaki-san's slightly husky voice an awful lot. I'd want to be born again as her just for the voice (lol).

Q4: What do you think you are #1 at in Hello Pro?

Degree of otaku. I like anime and games and manga, and gathering info on anime and games and manga is like my hobby. I think I probably have an amazing otaku-ness compared to my respective senpai as well (lol).

Q5: Tell us something awesome about Hello Pro!

I think there's a strong part where we can look at other groups and study them like "Let's do this kind of thing more!" Since every group feels like they definitely don't want to lose to others, I think that's a strength of all of Hello! Project.

Q6: If you could form a special unit in Hello Pro, who would it be with?

Former Morning Musumes Fujimoto Miki-san and Niigaki Risa-san, former ℃-ute's Okai Chisato-san, Angerme's Takeuchi Akari-san, and Morning Musume '17's Oda Sakura-san. I love voice actors, and have a voice fetish, so I gathered together those people who I think have beautiful voices!

Q7: Tell us your favorite Morning Musume song!

"One・Two・Three". This was the song that made me want to join Morning Musume, and it's the song which first expressed the coolness of the current Morning Musume. I think because of this song especially is why I myself am now a member of my beloved Morning Musume.

Q8: What's your favorite song in all of Hello Pro?

Tsubaki Factory's "Hanamoyou". I think it's a perfect song for Tsubaki Factory with the expression of flowers in its dance and singing.

Q9: What's the difference between the current and former Hello Pro?

I think the current Hello! Project groups place an emphasis on performance. Though it hasn't changed in how we all come together to make concerts, I don't think the level of consciousness of the coordination in singing and dance has been higher than it is now.

Q10: Aside from yourself, who would be your #1 member for someone to watch in order to come to like Hello Pro?

Hirose Ayaka-chan (Kobushi Factory). I love her singing an awful lot. Kobushi Factory has a lot of powerful songs, but I think the way her singing voice even out of them all is so strong and pulls them along is a reflection of Hello! Project. I think anyone who hears it would fall in love with it.

Q11: What about you do you want people to pay the most attention to?

Dancing. Since I'm tall among the members, I'm making use of that for posing and such. That's something I want you to keep an eye on.

Q12: What's some work you'd like to try in the future?

I'd like to try work as an anime voice actress. Though I like acting to begin with, I think it's incredibly wonderful to express something through just my voice. I'd like to try post-recording once.

Q13: What do you want people to pay the most attention to in Morning Musume?

Each member's respective personality. Though our personalities come out as they are in MCs and such, with 14 members we have all different kinds of people. But when we're all making one song together there's an incredible power of unity. That's also one thing I love about Morning Musume.

Q14: What will you be doing 20 years from now?

In 20 years I'll be 37...... Though I think I'll probably still be in showbiz, I won't want to be bragging about it. Though I'm still learning lots of things like etiquette and performance as a new member of Morning Musume now, when I've become 37 I won't want to be satisfied with just the name Morning Musume.

Q15: Since it's the 20th anniversary, please tell us a special secret!

I didn't know the difference between beef and pork until recently. Though recently I've started to understand it a bit finally, when it's cooked I still can't tell (lol).

Q16: What's something you'd like to become able to do by next year when the 20th anniversary is over?

I want to become able to drink carbonated beverages. When I was little I had a trauma of hating it and gagging when I drank one, and I still can't drink them (lol).

Q17: What would you do if you weren't an idol?

My dream when I was little was to be a policeman, and the people around me said something like that would fit me since I have a strong sense of justice. Since I was in the wind instrument club, I've been saying for ages that I want to be in the police band.

Q18: What are you most into now?

"Mobile Suit Gundam". Though there are lots of gundam series, I've seen all the original series and got totally immersed in it. I've started watching other series too, and although there are various mobile suits, I felt like they've had the coolest look. Since I can see gundam faces on lots of different things, I'm obsessed with it so much that there's nothing in my head but gundam. It's a serious illness (lol).

Q19: Who are you close with in Hello Pro?

Hello Pro Kenshuusei Inoue Hikaru-chan. We've had similar hobbies for a while and have been close, and when I see her at Hello! Project concerts and such we talk an awful lot about what the current KSS is like and other things I want to talk about.

Q20: What is an idol to you?

Though I think idols have an image of being cute, Hello! Project and Morning Musume have a strong image to me of being artists. They were sharp in dancing before I joined too, and good at singing, and had nothing but awesomely cool songs. I think that kind of idol can only be found in the current Morning Musume. There's also an ambition to keep improving our singing and performance more and more as artists. I think that among idols, Hello! Project involves that kind of idol.

Q1: Tell us where your name came from!

I hear they made it 朱音 (Akane) since they wanted the characters to be symmetrical and to use the 音 character. Though it's not completely symmetric left to right, it's close enough (lol).

Q2: Which senpai do you aim to be like?

Former Morning Musume member Tanaka Reina-san. She has a lovely singing voice, and a unique way of dancing that's incredibly cool. Moreover, she's incredibly cute. I love how her Hakata dialect is so cute too!

Q3: Who would you want to be if you were born differently?

Tanaka Reina-san here too. I want to perform like Tanaka-san. Kudo Haruka-san (Morning Musume '17) says "My admired senpai is Tanaka-san" and I get jealous when she says it like that. I also want Kudo-san to say she likes me (lol).

Q4: What do you think you are #1 at in Hello Pro?

My hometown love! I'm from Nagano, and I love my home and can talk an awful lot about it. Because of that especially I think I'm number one.

Q5: Tell us something awesome about Hello Pro!

Though there are so many groups, each group has a completely different personality. But whichever group, when everyone gets together, a sudden feeling of unity is born! I think that's awesome.

Q6: If you could form a special unit in Hello Pro, who would it be with?

I'd like to try a unit of Kudo Haruka-san and me as a duet (lol). That, or Kudo-san and Ishida Ayumi-san (Morning Musume '17) and Tsubaki Factory's Ogata Risa-chan and me, the 4 of us. I'd like to try it as these members who've all had a sleepover together.

Q7: Tell us your favorite Morning Musume song!

"Kimi sae Ireba Nanimo Iranai". I like the part Ishida Ayumi-san sings in the 2nd B melody an awful lot. Since I haven't performed this song in full yet, I'd like to do it sometime.

Q8: What's your favorite song in all of Hello Pro?

Morning Musume's "Be Alive". The tune and the lyrics are both beautiful, so I think it's a song which can make you happy just listening to it. I like it an awful lot since it'll give me energy if I listen to it when I'm feeling down.

Q9: What's the difference between the current and former Hello Pro?

The current Hello! Project has changed systems many times and added new units as well as new members. Saying that, I think it's awesome how you can always see a new Hello! Project.

Q10: Aside from yourself, who would be your #1 member for someone to watch in order to come to like Hello Pro?

Funaki Musubu-chan (Angerme/Country Girls). Though she's amazingly small her dancing and singing both have an amazing impact, and although she's incredibly cute in cute songs, she's incredibly cool when doing a cool song. Since she's appearing in CMs and on TV too, I definitely want you to see her. She's my rival (lol).

Q11: What about you do you want people to pay the most attention to?

The gap between my appearance and what's inside. I'm often told I look outwardly mature, but inside I'm not really that mature. Though I have various sides like the disposition of a big sister and a little sister character, inside I think I really am a kid.

Q12: What's some work you'd like to try in the future?

I'd like to try doing a regular solo radio show. Since I really love to talk, and am often praised by those around me too. I hope opportunities like that will start increasing.

Q13: What do you want people to pay the most attention to in Morning Musume?

Though we work incredibly hard on our formation dances for the stage, everyone's close in the dressing room. Though we have senpai-kouhai relationships, since we're so close that it seems we don't really care about it, I want you to see that.

Q14: What will you be doing 20 years from now?

I want to ask "Have you stopped being bothered so easily?" I get bothered really easily, to where my favorite phrase is "Too bothersome". If I don't fix that I definitely won't be able to manage a household or anything right? Since things like doing laundry will be too bothersome. Since I'll be 35, I want to do that so I can get married.

Q15: Since it's the 20th anniversary, please tell us a special secret!

So I just talked about wanting to do solo radio. You know how you can transmit your voice through cell phone audio recording? I've been sending Tsubaki Factory's Ogata Risa-chan a 15~20 minute recording of my voice like a radio show. With Morning Musume 9th gen members' song "Ai Saretai no ni..." as the opening. I send that every Friday. The name of the program is OGT Radio's (a fictional radio station name) "Haga Akane's Oyaki~ Radio" (lol). When I was bored I told Marunee (Ogata) I wanted to send her a voice message, and that started off the course toward radio. I started it after Marunee thought up the program name for me, and Marunee does properly listen to it. It makes me think how kind she is (lol). The first episode was on 2016/7/1, and I've been doing it most every week since then.

Q16: What's something you'd like to become able to do by next year when the 20th anniversary is over?

Since I've been really bad at going down stairs for a long time, I want to become better at being able to go down stairs (lol). When I was in elementary school I'd skip a step or two, and one time I fell. Since then I've hated stairs. In concert sets we often have stairs, and since I'm wearing heels it's noisy going down them. Because I'm slow going down, it causes problems with the flow of movement. Though I don't know how I'd fix it, I'd like to overcome it.

Q17: What would you do if you weren't an idol?

I wanted to work at a famous cake shop in Nagano. I don't like whipped cream, but the whipped cream from that place is the only kind I can eat. So I'd make whipped cream at that place, and since if I couldn't eat it then it wouldn't be the right flavor, I think I would have become a genius at making whipped cream there.

Q18: What are you most into now?

Something I often do when I'm bored is look through the camera roll on my cell phone. To the extent that when I open my phone my hand starts moving through the camera roll by itself. Since it's full of memories, I've been into looking back on memories from those times and watching cute Kudo-san videos. When you see me grinning while looking at my cell phone, it's generally when I'm looking at my camera roll (lol).

Q19: Who are you close with in Hello Pro?

Tsubaki Factory's Niinuma Kisora-chan. She's my generation-mate from the Hello Pro Kenshuusei, and we've often been going out to eat lately. I've wanted to go again to a doria place I went to with Kudo Haruka-san, but since I was too flustered to invite Kudo-san I had Kisora-chan take me. We both love "Pretty Cure", and since Kisora-chan often does the "Pretty Cure" gachagacha games she gives all of the extras she gets to me.

Q20: What is an idol to you?

Before I joined Morning Musume, Morning Musume to me was a really wonderful thing that could make me smile and give me energy. So I think idols are those who give smiles and energy. I also really want to become able to give people smiles and energy and make them say "You moved me!" by listening to our singing.

Q1: Tell us where your name came from!

My name is 真莉愛 (Maria), and it's wrapped in a meaning of being able to be conveyed and be loved not just in Japan but around the world. Though I hear at first they thought of writing it just in hiragana or katakana, it didn't fit the number of characters so they made it kanji.

Q2: Which senpai do you aim to be like?

Michishige Sayumi-san. That's what I've always thought since I was in the Hello Pro Kenshuusei. She's someone who's cute and kind, and loved by lots of people. I was with her together in Morning Musume for about two months, but the only time I got to perform with her on stage was at her last graduation concert. And so, I was happy to be able to perform together with Michishige-san at our recent 20th anniversary event.

Q3: Who would you want to be if you were born differently?

Ishikawa Rika-san. My favorite Morning Musume song is "The☆Peace". So since I'd like to try saying the lines Ishikawa-san does there as well.

Q4: What do you think you are #1 at in Hello Pro?

Since I love the Hokkaido Ham Fighters pro baseball team, I won't lose to anyone in that love. Until 3 years old I was a fan of my local Dragons team, but switched to the Ham Fighters after seeing Tsuyoshi Shinjo and thinking how cool he was. Probably about 13 years. I love them so much I even travel for their away series and stuff.

Q5: Tell us something awesome about Hello Pro!

Continuing for so long. Even though we haven't had the same members all 20 years and they keep changing, I think it's awesome how it's still continuing on now. I'm 16 now, and so just being in a group that was formed before I was born is amazing.

Q6: If you could form a special unit in Hello Pro, who would it be with?

Of course it'd be best to be in a duet with Michishige Sayumi-san. There are a lot of cute songs that Michishige-san sings, right? Since I generally like cute clothes too, a song with us as bunnies or in pink, that kind of taste, would be good.

Q7: Tell us your favorite Morning Musume song!

I like songs with a message like our new song "Wakaindashi" which was created with the image of sending off Kudo-san. "ENDLESS SKY" was also a song where everyone cheerily sent Sayashi-san off when she graduated, and I like that kind of song where everyone can have fun remembering the times we've had singing together.

Q8: What's your favorite song in all of Hello Pro?

I like "The☆Peace" the most. Though it's cute, there are energetic parts too. I really do like the monologue parts best.

Q9: What's the difference between the current and former Hello Pro?

Formation dance. The instructors are putting in choreography now that you can't imitate. Also the era is different, or rather since there are smartphones and such it's different how we can quickly express our own words through like SNS or blogs. Since there are more places now where we can express ourselves, I'm happy that there are more chances for people to be able to come to know Morning Musume '17.

Q10: Aside from yourself, who would be your #1 member for someone to watch in order to come to like Hello Pro?

Morning Musume '17's Kudo Haruka-san. Kudo-san is graduating Morning Musume to pursue the path of an actress, and I really love Kudo-san's acting. When we did plays in Morning Musume Kudo-san would play male roles, and she was really cool, and there were so many scenes with her that would make me cry. I can't wait to see her TV and drama activities!

Q11: What about you do you want people to pay the most attention to?

My belly button. Recently I've been doing a lot of photoshoots in bathing suits, and since my belly button is my charm point, I want you to look at that. I want you to see me at lives. I think there's quite a gap. Though I sound childish when I talk, I think it's different when I'm dancing at a live. Though I'm always like "kya~kya~kya~", when there's a live there's a little switch and although I like cute songs, during cool songs and such I really put feeling into them.

Q12: What's some work you'd like to try in the future?

I love baseball an awful lot, and though my wish has come true to be able to throw out two first pitches, I'd like to try doing groundskeeping. I've wanted to try groundskeeping ever since I was little. I'd like to try it more than being a vendor girl or something! Other than that, I'd also like to try baseball commentary. I'd like to try directly interviewing the players.

Q13: What do you want people to pay the most attention to in Morning Musume?

Definitely our zeal. I want you to see our passion. Morning Musume keeps changing members, right? When new members join we really do start working hard so as to not lose to them, and when there are members who graduate I think we do our best to fill the gap left by their departure. We have an incredibly strong spirit of bringing out the best in each other. Each and every time, whenever you might watch Morning Musume, I think we have that passion.

Q14: What will you be doing 20 years from now?

I'll probably have graduated from Morning Musume......? I want to be like a female version of Nakai Masahiro-san. While doing things like dancing and being an idol, I think it'd be awesome to do things like be able to talk and report about the baseball WBC. I hope 20 years from now I'll be able to do work involving more baseball knowledge.

Q15: Since it's the 20th anniversary, please tell us a special secret!

If you could see it, I was good in fights. I was generally strong getting into fights about little things with other girls like making them let me be their friend. I suppose I knew what it took to win.

Q16: What's something you'd like to become able to do by next year when the 20th anniversary is over?

Since I'm not good at singing, I'd like to become a bit better by a year from now. More and more practice. Also, I want to become a bit faster at eating. I've been slow since I was little. There were times in elementary school when I'd be the last person eating lunch...... But I'm good at wanko soba, so when we went to Morioka for a Morning Musume tour and everyone ate it, I was #2 out of the members eating 120 bowls in 15 minutes. Kudo-san was #1 that time, so I want to take #1 in Morning Musume from now on!

Q17: What would you do if you weren't an idol?

I'd probably make Japanese wagashi candies. I've had experience doing that kind of work, and I like wagashi. Also, when I was little, I wanted to be a Fighters Girl. Since I liked the Nippon Ham Fighters and was learning ballet.

Q18: What are you most into now?

Magazines, or rather reading fashion mags. When we do shoots as Morning Musume I've thought I want to get a bit better at posing. I look through the photos of my favorite model-sans. One I especially study is Lola-san.

Q19: Who are you close with in Hello Pro?

Angerme's Sasaki Rikako-chan. We were in Hello Pro Kenshuusei together, and have had sleepovers many times. At the summer Hello! Project concert too we did our own circle as the two of us.

Q20: What is an idol to you?

Being an idol is about giving energy to those who watch us so they can forget their negative feelings, right? While saying we give energy, watching the fans cheering us on gives us energy a lot of the time too, so I get worried that we're properly able to repay that. At lives too it's not just us having fun, but I want to make sure to do it with the feeling of letting the fans have fun as well.
