Q1: Tell us where your name came from!

There's really no reason or anything, and mama gave it to me since she liked how it sounds (lol). Though I hear they were unsure between this and Haruka, they took the 菜 (na) from mama's favorite Nakamori Akina-san and so it became Haruna. Though I was born in winter (haru = spring).

Q2: Which senpai do you aim to be like?

I auditioned for Morning Musume since I liked Michishige Sayumi-san. And so, she's always been a person I admire and respect. Since Michishige-san was just incredibly full of love and looked after the staff-san too, I also want to do my activities full of love.

Q3: Who would you want to be if you were born differently?

Fujimoto Miki-san. She gives a sense of having a smooth-sailing lifestyle. I'm also envious of how she became intimate with so many people calling her "Mikitty" and how she wasn't only cute in looks and awesome at singing. She's flawless.

Q4: What do you think you are #1 at in Hello Pro?

I'm a manga otaku, so I won't lose to anyone in just my manga knowledge. 13th gen member Kaga Kaede says her hobby is manga and anime and games too, but with the feeling that I could utterly defeat that Kaga-chan I think I'm idol 1 who won't lose to anyone. With what's currently in serialization now, the number of things I'm reading is passing 100.

Q5: Tell us something awesome about Hello Pro!

Definitely the meritocracy. Also, the number of songs. We're endeavoring to understand and interpret songs we didn't originally participate in so that we don't end up copying our senpai. I also feel a spirit of rivalry toward the past over how I should express them now.

Q6: If you could form a special unit in Hello Pro, who would it be with?

Since I've always been close with Angerme's Wada Ayaka-chan, I'd like to try singing in a duet with Wada Ayaka-chan. If it's okay to just pull in my favorite people, I'd like to form a unit with Wada Ayaka-chan and Michishige Sayumi-san and Nakajima Saki-san. I'd want to do a song that's THE idol. I'd want to wear outfits with cute lace or ribbon and sing in a cute setting.

Q7: Tell us your favorite Morning Musume song!

I liked the song "Ame no Furanai Hoshi de wa Aisenai darou?" from before I joined. The lyrics are incredibly warm, and it's like when I listen to it I really feel like I'm gonna cry. I wonder if everyone who listens to it starts thinking about their own fathers and mothers.

Q8: What's your favorite song in all of Hello Pro?

I like Michishige Sayumi's song "Shabadabadoo~". It was the last song when Michishige-san was active, and I listen to it almost every day. It's so cute and stylish. I like Michishige-san's voice these days.

Q9: What's the difference between the current and former Hello Pro?

Though I guess it's more about Morning Musume, we probably show more coolness in group dancing rather than just individual dancing. In the past Morning Musume positions were set, and it was more about keeping rhythm, but now since we do formation movements and the dancing has become more intense, the performance genre is changing entirely. Older songs have less choreography, but are difficult since we have to be really careful about the rhythm.

Q10: Aside from yourself, who would be your #1 member for someone to watch in order to come to like Hello Pro?

Kobushi Factory's Inoue Rei-chan. At first I thought she looked like Nakagawa Shoko-san. Since she has a small face but big, pretty eyes, and her smile is cute too. With her eye bags and such she has the look of THE idol, but the gap when she performs is incredible. Her singing voice is deep, and full of strength. Since she's that kind small and dainty girl, I'm like "where does that strong voice come from?" She'll do you in just like that.

Q11: What about you do you want people to pay the most attention to?

Since I'm the oldest by age, I want to charm you more than other members with my breadth of expression in concerts and such. And so, I want to broaden my expressive ability.

Q12: What's some work you'd like to try in the future?

Though I want to do lots of solo work, I also want to do travel locations. I want to become a Mystery Hunter in "Sekai Fushigi Hakken!" I like books of scenery from around the world and often read them, but I want to have more fun getting to know those places well rather than just going there.

Q13: What do you want people to pay the most attention to in Morning Musume?

Probably the gap. Everyone's so sharp at concerts and such, but are all waa-kyaa in the dressing room, so when you watch DVDs and such that are filmed backstage, it's completely different from when we're on stage. Since everyone is a life-sized girl, I want you to enjoy that gap.

Q14: What will you be doing 20 years from now?

I hope I'll have my own clothing brand. I've been doing the fashion coordinate app "WEAR", and it makes me incredibly happy that my followers increase every day. I want to study how to show color inspection and clothing in a prettier way. Some day I'd like to manage the outfits and such for Morning Musume too.

Q15: Since it's the 20th anniversary, please tell us a special secret!

I only have 10,000 yen in my wallet. Since I have a bad habit of being extravagant, I make sure to not put more than 10,000 yen in there so I can't use it all up.

Q16: What's something you'd like to become able to do by next year when the 20th anniversary is over?

Not age more than how I am now. Since I'll be 23 this year, the members have been calling me auntie. I'd like to do some self-improvement, and become prettier than I am now.

Q17: What would you do if you weren't an idol?

I think I probably would have been a NEET. Around now I'd be a hikikomori otaku NEET.

I've talked with my parents about how we're glad I went to the auditions.

Q18: What are you most into now?

I like watching TV shows. I definitely try to record "Kanjani ∞ Chronicle", "Sanma no Owarai Koujou Iinkai", and "Konya Kurabete mimashita". I learn an awful lot from "Kanjani ∞ Chronicle" as an idol MC.

Q19: Who are you close with in Hello Pro?

Wada Ayaka-chan, right. Also the members in my generation. Out of those I connect with Kudo Haruka-chan the most, or rather we can talk easily. I feel like Kuduu is first to bring up the things we talk about. Since Kuduu laughs along with me too, and our triggers are the same, she's easy to talk to.

Q20: What is an idol to you?

I feel like they're invincible. Like they can do anything. Idols don't just do concerts, but also variety and modeling; anything goes, right. Since they shine, I just want to show the fans the cheery parts.
