nds.Plan C (Carn Beag Dearg East ridge and up to Carn Dearg Mheadhonach) - mission accomplished!!Frustrating day in Lochaber, with surface crust breaking through to knee deep snow until about the 800m mark where things firmed up nicely. Wind scoured slopes above this height pretty bullet proof, but also lots of snow swirling about in stiff SE winds. Nevis and Aonach Mor summits stayed in clouds the whole time I was up there, with only fleeting views of Carn Dearg area and West Face Aonoch Mor. Amazing raised footprints and sastrugi action going on,Nike Air Max 2014 Womens White Black, and a dropping freezing level on descent made for rapid bum sliding back to the bike, followed by a fast descent to Nevis Range via a bit of the World Champs track. Good multi activity day out!!Blue skies for the drive back to Oban, and Glencoe looked amazing as I passed. Wrong decision again, my winter karma is crap this year!!!Couple more chilly days like this would have been ideal to firm up the snow pack lower down, but looking unlikely given the stormy forecast. Some photos here:https://www.facebook/media/set/?set=a.10152145582635865.1073741856.738660864&type=1&l=7c3bc2edbcCheers,Nike Air Max 2011 Womens Black Pink,GordonPost edited at 18:18

Planning a trad trip of a lifetime at the end of May 2014, and would very much like to be able to lead E2 consistently.I've been "out of training" for a number of years, so would like some advice about how I get myself in best condition!I've climbed for 24 years -- in the mid-late 1990's I was confidently leading E2 (mostly Pembroke & Scotland), occasional E3 and seconding E5's / and up to 7a+. Now in my mid-40sSince then I've gradually climbed less and less -- I've done more mountaineering in my spare time, & of course more work & family commitments. Rock climbing between 4 and 6 times per year over the last few yrs,Nike Air Max 2011 Grey Red UK, happily leading VS & the occasional HVS (Peak Grit, Snowdonia). Inconsistent climbing wall training, but generally fit as I cycle every day.So, I'm after some tips on how I can get myself back towards my previous form over the next 6 months, without injuring myself. I've a good climbing wall nearby....... not showing 14 replies to this topic ...Register as a New User or login to gain full access to the forums.
