Today I joined free English class at church. After English class, we had Bible study for 30min..

Today Bible study interested me. The topic was this sentence from Bible “ For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled and he who humbles himself will be exalted”

The priest taught us the meaning of this sentence through comparing with Japanese society.

The priest said” Many Japanese work for long hours, and make much money but they don’t have enough time with their family. If someone complains to them, they say they are right, they give their family much money. On the other hand,they never respect ‘freeter’ which is a special name created in Japan for calling part time job worker. Because ‘freeter’ has opposite mind to them. ’freeter’ don’t want to work for long hours,don’t need much money. In short, they believe they are always all right. “

In addition the priest said “It’s a problem of Japan”

I agreed strongly about that. I often think about that problem.

It seems to me that Japanese should humble themselves more.
