俺の愛を受けて飛んでいけ
ロイヤルハントというバンドで有名になったボーカルのDCクーパーですが、ロイヤルハント後に結成したのがこのバンド、サイレント・フォースです。
そしてDCに男の子が生まれ、その喜びを歌ったのがこの曲です。
冒頭のキラキラ星を歌っているのは、実際のDCの長男の様です。
DCクーパーとはドナルド・クリストファー・クーパーのことですが、長男はクレイトン・Ｃ・クーパー君です。
翼を広げろというセリフは、歌の世界では非常にありふれたものですし、この曲自体にも特別な特徴があるわけでもないですし、さらにこのアルバムには他に良い曲もあるのですが、やっぱりこのバラードは良いです。
「Was he chosen」などの「選ばれた」という言葉が特徴的です。
選んだのか選ばれたのはわからないが、新しく生まれた息子との何かしらの絆を感じている、そんな感情が歌われているのだと思います。
