問題作 「Turbo」 の次のアルバムのタイトルトラックで一曲目。
このアルバム 「Ram it Down」 もある意味問題作とされているようですが、この一曲めに関してはほとんどの Judas Priest のファンが納得できる名曲だと思います。
歌詞の内容はライブについてですが、ありきたりな単語を使わずに、ram it down (押し固める) という言葉を使っていることがいいですね。
アルバムジャケットもそんなイメージで地球を叩いているものです。
さらにコーラス (サビ) では、そのイメージを引き継ぎ、"Razing the place to the ground (その場所を壊滅させる)" とも歌っています。
もちろん壊すとか押し固めるというのは比喩で、それぐらい会場を震わせてやろうということでしょう。
それと二回目のコーラスの後にくる "Shout it out ..." がまたいい味を出していて、その後のすばらしいギターソロに入っていきます。
曲のはじまりの「アーー」の叫びも大好きです。
