ドイツのバンドであるガンマ・レイの代表曲。
人類の危機の中、その人類の中でもリーダー格の男のお話でしょうか。
疾走曲ではありますが、二回目のコーラス (サビ) の後の語っているかのような部分や、ギターソロ後の神への語りなど、構成に変化があって、まさにバンドリーダーのカイ・ハンセンの得意な曲といった感じです。
そして、曲の始まりの掛け声 「アーライッ (all right !)」 は、前任ボーカルのラルフ・シーパースだったら言わないだろう、カイらしい掛け声なのです。
歌詞の内容は、二行目と三行目の 「supersonic killers in the sky (空にいる超音速の殺し屋)」 と 「Everything you do will be analyzed (あなたの動きは全て分析される)」 から、近未来のコンピューターが支配する世界のことだと解釈しました。
その人類の危機を克服するためには奇跡が必要であり、神や聖人が導いてくれると歌っているので、歌い手は人類の一人であり、自称か他称かは不明ですが使命を持った人々を引っ張る人間ということだろうと思います。
歌詞の二番に 「the gods ... gotta (got to しなくちゃいけない) change our part in the masterplan」 と歌ってますので、神は元々の人類の計画を修正しなくてはならない状況だ、またはきっと修正してくれるだろう、といった感じでしょうか。
最終的には神任せではなく、歌い手を中心に人類が協力しなければならない。
具体的なことは歌われていませんが、みんなで叫べということですな、きっと。
