ファーストアルバの後に発表されたミニアルバム「Battle Against Damnation」に収録の曲。
歌詞の内容は、赤い空のような悲惨な時代の下に生まれた人の心情を歌ったものでしょうか。
「Sin in the sky」 は個人ではどうすることも出来ない、大きな時代の流れを表した言葉かもしれません。
罪が空を覆ってしまっている感じで、人類の危機を描いている気がしました。
さて、サビの部分、つまりコーラスに、you が出てきます。
これは自分の身近な人ともとれるのでしょうが、私は、もしかしたら存在する神だと解釈しました。
つまり、この悲惨な時代になる前は微笑んでくれていたが、人類は今この混沌から抜け出せないでいる。
しかし、もう一度神が微笑むような時代を皆で作ろうという、絶望の中の希望を歌っていると思います。
曲自体は、激ロックのインタビュー記事によると、ロシアの作曲家セルゲイ・ラフマニノフの交響曲第２番 第３楽章に影響を受けています。
クラシックの素養があるmiyakoの作曲能力が発揮されていて、やっぱりギターソロが独特の雰囲気を持っていますし、曲の終りの部分の「おーおーおー、おーおおー」あたりもいいですね。
