救世主は無敵だ
Judas Priestで一番有名な曲でしょうね。
Painkillerは直訳すると「鎮痛剤」ですが、頭痛持ちの私からすれば、ひどい頭痛を弾丸よりも速く消し去ってくれるかのような頭痛薬は常に携帯必須で、まさに救世主なのです。
本当は私のイメージでは仏教の明王や毘沙門天がぴったりなんですが、流石にイングランドのバンドの歌に仏教はふさわしくないと思い、「救世主」と意訳しました。
「彼が鎮痛剤」という直訳は、さすがにダサいですしね。
ちなみにこの曲のミュージックビデオ(ＭＶ)はジューダスプリーストにしてはまともで、むしろ物足りなさを感じてしまいます。
なんと言っても「Breaking the Law」をはじめ、数々の迷ＭＶを生み出してきたバンドですからね。
さらにちなみに余談ですが、様々な医者に見てもらった結果、私の頭痛は緊張型頭痛と偏頭痛の複合型のようだと思われます。
安静にしていても改善せずに、本当にひどくなります。
なので早めに頭痛薬を飲むようにしてますが、予防の観点から最近はカモミール茶を飲むようにしています。
カモミールは薬草として古くから知られていたようで、たぶん多少は予防になっていると思っています、ペイーン。
