テキストやディスクを用いたレッスン
さて、皆さん、現在行われているテキストやディスクを用いたいわゆる 「英 （語） 会話」 の授業や学習は、
実はほとんど全て、典型的な 「会話英語」 の授業や学習です。
そのような授業をいくら受けても、そのような学習をいくらしても、本物の、つまり本番の 「英 （語） 会話」
は決して正しくできるようにはなりません。
なぜか分かりますか？
なぜなら、それは
1) 聞き取りに完璧になり、
2) ほとんどあらゆる場面の典型的な対話例や有用と思われる非常に多くの英文例や語句を日本語を介し
て理解し、
3) きちんと記憶し、その記憶を維持し、
4) 本番の英会話の時にそれらの中から適切なものを思い出し、必要に応じて語句を英文法に従って入れ
替え、
5) 一気に適切な発言をして行く
という、そのような方法で、このようなことはどの１つを取ってみてもあきらかに不可能だからです。

Learning Using Textbooks and / or Disks
Now, every one, almost all the prevailing teachig and learning of what is called 'English
conversation' using textbooks and / or disks are actually those of typical 'conversational
English'.
No matter how many such lessons we may take, we will never be good conversationalists
in English.
Could you suspect why?
Because it is a method in which we are expected to do a lot of things impossible, i. e.
1) to become perfect in listening,
2) to understand almost all kinds of English dialogues, sentences, words and phrases
through translation into Japanese in advance,
3) to memorize all of them and to retain the memory till we use them in a real conversation
situation,
4) to recall the proper ones at once, and, when necessary, to substitute words or phrases
correctly using English grammar instantly in a real conversation situation, and
5) to utter them immediately always with good pronunciation,
any of which is obviously impossible to do, we think.
