We stayed here just one night and from the start of the check in process it was clear that customer service is poor. We booked a triple room for 3 adults and was given a suite but only one bed. When we queried whether the sofa bed was to be made up we were told it was only for two people and we would have to change rooms. Lots of discussion of when this would happen and after many conversations it did, but hotel made it feel like it was our fault. Rooms were very clean but would expect in 5*. Breakfast was an issue as they were adamant that our booking didn’t cover this although my email confirmation showed it was included. Took many people and prints ours to accept this. Breakfast was very underwhelming and bog standard. When we came to check out they tried to charge us for car parking despite getting the train. Had no idea why they presumed we had a car. In summary, it was fine for a night, didn’t spend any longer than sleeping. But for the price of £450 and the fact it’s meant to be 5* I didn’t feel it was worth the money and far better hotels to choose from in that area. Customer service and the fact we felt like we were blamed for all the issues was our main concern. I wouldn’t stay there again.
I have known this building from when it was empty and excited to see what this creative hotel group have done with it. It really is beautiful inside from the dramatic staircase to the jail themed bar complete with private cell rooms and the wooden panelled courtroom where breakfast rather than justice is served. The basement spa with pool, sauna and steam room is a perfect escape. The only niggle was that the water jet tap didn't seem to work and a hot tub would make it perfect. Most of all the staff were super kind and helpful with particular mention to Tyurkyam and Jamil (excuse if this is misspelt), who pulled out all the stops to add an extra bed to the room when the request for a twin room from Agoda was not recognised on their system on check in. All round, a wonderful stay and Agoda had the best price for our stay when compared to other booking websites.
Stayed for a night at the courthouse. The hotel feels on the verge of bankruptcy and really not to the standard of a 5 stars hotel. The ac didn’t work is my room and the windows are locked so the air felt really stuffy and too warm. A lot of broken taps radiator etc The shower taps are really dangerous as misleading on the direction for warm or cold or even broken which made me burn myself accidentally under the shower. Stay away
