Today I finally visited Sanjusangen-do as I've promised here.
今日は事前予告通り、ついに三十三間堂へ行って参りました！

京都はとにかく、ひたすら暑かったです・・・
Now let's learn together about Sanjusangen-do
では、三十三間堂について学びましょう。
The official name of Snajusangen-do is Rengeo-in temple and one of the national treasures.
正式には、三十三間堂は蓮華王院といい、国宝の１つです。
It was established by Taira-no-Kiyomori in 1164.
1164年に平清盛によって、建立されました。
It's been said that the orinigal temple building was lost in a fire.
当時の建物は火事で焼失してしまったと言われています。
However, surprisingly enough, the building was reconstructed in 1266 and has remained unchanged for 700 years since then.
でも、驚くべきことには、1266年に再建築されてからは700年もの間保存されて、現在に至るのです。
I was also impressed to know that there were four great renovations in several eras and our anscestors have preserved this national treasure untill today.
4度の大修繕が時代を超えて行われ、日本のご先祖様たちが大切に国宝を守ってきてくれて今日に至るのだということを知り、感動しました。
From tomorrow, I'm going to Kagawa prefecture, so I will write about it here too

今日は暑すぎて、三十三間堂の写真は撮れませんでした。
Well, I couldn't take any pictures inside the buiding anyway...I took a picture of Kamogawa river from Kawaramachi instead.
どちみち、建物の中での撮影は禁止されていました。代わりにといいましょうか、四条河原町から鴨川の風景を撮影しました。
