での名言。
自分の娘と別れた娘の彼に最後の言葉としてこれを言う父親。
その彼は夢を諦め、自分の彼女を諦めた。
父親もかつて自分の夢を諦めた。
『僕には五十嵐くんの気持ちがわかるんや』
そう言って、
『ひなたの道を歩けばきっと人生は輝くよ。』
と言う。
人生はまだ続いていくが、
自分の選んだ道の先に輝く自分がいると信じて行け、と。
立ち去る父親に最後に深々と頭を下げる彼。

日本流に言えば、
ボロを着てても心は錦、
ということでしょう。
"If you walk on the sunny side of the street, your life will surely shine."
This is a famous line from the Japanese television drama "Come Come Everybody," which aired from 2021 to 2022.
A father says this as his final words to his daughter and her boyfriend. The boyfriend has given up on his dreams and his girlfriend. The father also gave up on his own dreams in the past. He says, "I understand how you feel, Igarashi-kun."
Then he says, "If you walk on the sunny side of the street, your life will surely shine."
Life continues, but he encourages them to believe that there is a bright future ahead if they follow the path they choose. The boyfriend, Igarashi (played by Kanata Hongo), bows deeply to the departing father (played by Joe Odagiri).
The song that frequently played in the drama is a verse from Louis Armstrong's "On the Sunny Side of the Street":
"If I never had a cent baby
I'd be rich as Rockefeller
Gold dust at my feet
On the sunny side of the street."
In Japanese, it could be likened to the saying "Even in rags, the heart is brocade," meaning that even in difficult times, one's spirit can be rich and beautiful.
