  ・ gerunds （動名詞）and infinitive（不定詞） 

〇新しく習った単語や表現

  ・decisive（決断力のある）=make quick decision⇔indecisive

 　（例）you need to be more decisive to solve the problem.

　 （例）he is an indecisive character.

  ・paper money（紙幣）

     arrange paper money in the same direction.

     make paper money right side up.

  ・put away（片づける）/get away（不要なものを取り去る）

　・article（冠詞）            definite article（定冠詞）→the

                                  indefinite article（不定冠詞）→a/an

  ・adjective（形容詞）

　・adverb（副詞）

　・superlative（最上級の）

　・spend time ～ing

　・expect to do by 〇〇（time reference いる）

　・can't stand (to do) /(doing)　耐えられない

　・Superstitions(迷信） and Beliefs（信念について）

　・TOEFLテスト speaking

　　15秒で考えて45秒で話す練習を２題。（設問は下記に）

〇新しく習った単語

　・luckを使った表現

　a. "I have a big test tomorrow.""Well, best of luck."

  b. "Is there an ATM nearby?""I'm afraid you're out of luck."

  c."He won the first game of chess he ever played."

    "That was beginner's luck."

  d."He lost his job and house, and now he's sick"

    "Wow!He's got bad luck."

  e. "Are you going to Europe this summer?"

     "No such luck. I'm staying home.

  f."How did you win those soccer tickets?"

    "It was the luck of the draw."

  g."Thanks for the S20.Can I have S40 more?"

    "Don't push your luck."

　・　against the grain(性分に反して）⇔with the grain

　→It goes against the grain to apologize

  ・ increase their mental mind/capablity

  ※マインドは強化するものではないので、

　　strenghen their mental mind とは言わない。

　・　increase their physical strengh

〇設問

Describe the city or town where you have lived. Explain why this place is either a good or not a good place to live. Include details and examples in your answer.

Some students take one long examination at the end of a course. Others have several shorter tests throughout the course. Which situation do you think is better for students and why?

　TOEFLテスト speaking

　15秒で考えて45秒で話す練習を４題ほど。（設問は下記に）

〇受けたアドバイス

　・singlar(単数形）とplural（複数形）

　→一般的な話をするときは、必ず複数形

〇新しく習った単語

　・山頂　 top/summit/peak

  ・麓　　　bottom/base

  ・視野を広げる　expand my horizons

  ・文化の違い　cultural differences

　・many people from many countries ＝diverse

  ・人種と文化のるつぼ  a melting pot of different cultures and races

  ・白人至上主義　white supremacism

　・白人至上主義者　a white supremacist

〇習ったテクニック

  ・二つの相反する意見があった時、一方の意見を主張するために

　その意見の利点を述べて後押しするのもよいが、もう一方の意見の

　欠点を述べて後押しするのもよい。

〇設問

Where would you like to travel to for your next vacation. Describe what the place is like and why you want to visit there.

What is your ideal career? Describe what it would be like and why it appeals to you.

Do you prefer living in an urban or rural area? State your reference and give reasons as to why you fell that way.

Should professional athletes be role models to young children? Why or why not?
