久々に円山動物園へ行ってきました。
I haven't been to Sapporo Maruyma Zoo for a while.
森林浴です・・・
Walking into the forest
ここは、杉の北限でもあります。
This place is the northern limit of the Japanese cedar.

しばらくみないうちに結構、園内が変わりました。
Inside of the Maruyama Zoo changed a lot while I did not go here.
↑コカコーラと動物園がコラボ(日本初)
This is a collaboration shop of Coca-Cola and Zoo. (Japan's first shop)
ちなみに、店内にはコカコーラグッズも売っている(これまた珍しい)
Incidentally, this shop sells Coca-Cola's goods, (This is also rare)
↑白熊ドックを食べましたが、白熊は入っていませんでした。
This is called "White bear dog", but this hot dog didn't have white bear's meat.
ソーセージが白かったです。
The sausage is white so I think this is called "White bear dog".
そして、今話題の双子の小熊を見てきました。
Also, I watched twin white bear kids which is really popular now.
名前は、イコロとキロル
The name is Ikoro and Kiroru.
イコロ(ikor)は、アイヌ語で「宝物」、キロル(kiroru)は同じくアイヌ語で「大きな道、りっぱな道」を意味
Ikoro meand "treasure" in Ainu (Hokkaido' orinal people's languaage).
Kiroru means "great way" in Ainu.
良い名前だ。
I thinks it's cool name.

Cute・・・He is like a dog who carries a newspaper to his master.

His mother seems to be disgusted by him.
ちなみにパパは釧路へ出張中とのこと
Incidentally, his father is in Kushiro (East of Hokkaido) now
種の保存のためだからしょうがない・・・
to preserve the number of white bear.
また、母は毎年のように出産とのこと
Also, the mother is having babies almost every years.
そして息子達は日本各地へ・・・
And her sons go to all over Japan.
悲しいのかな・・・やっぱり。。。
I don't know, but I guess she feels sad about that.
ちなみに、白熊は２歳くらいに自立していくとのこと。
Incidentally, white bear lives his own life when they become two years old.
僕も、そろそろ自立します。
I should be independent gradually.

Maruaya Zoo is more beautiful compared to when I came before.
動物園内にセブンって・・・一体・・・？
Why is there Seven-Eleven in the Zoo・・・？
しかもドアが後ろにもあるとのこと
I heard this shop has another door behind too.
すると、後ろから動物園に入れてしまわないか？？？

I'm worried people can get in the Zoo from the door behind without paying money.

んで、出る時に、専用機器にカードをかざすとドアが開く仕組み
ans when you get out, you touch that card on the special equipment to open the door.

日本で飼育しているのは円山だけ
Only Maruyma Zoo has Komodo dragon in Japan.
ちなみに、獲物を何週間も追い回して、獲物の体力が尽きたときに、捕食。
They keep chasing prey for several weeks and when prey lacks his stamina, Komodo dragon eats him.
なんというタチの悪さ・・・敵に回したくないですｗ
Komodo dragon has bad habit・・・I don't want him to be my enemy lol

Yangtze River's baby alligators
繁殖がとてもむずかしい。
It's very difficult to propagate.
中国では、低温状態にして繁殖させるのがその方法だが、なかなかうまくいかない。
In China, the way of propagation is to keep alligator low temperature, but it doesn't go well.
折りしも、円山の飼育員の本田さんが、ワニを絶食状態にして繁殖させる方法を確立。
Just then, Maruyama Zoo's staff, Mr Honda established the new propagation method, which keeps alligator fast.
なんと、繁殖が難しい揚子江ワニがこんなに繁殖したとのこと。
Consequently, his way was successful and many Yangtze River's baby alligators were born.
円山の技術は、地味にすごいんです。
Maruya Zoo's technology is actually great.

This is Japanese treasure, Red-crowned Crane, which lives in Kushiro (East of Hokkaido) marsh.

そして右足の痛み復活・・・
