菟道稚郎子尊 宇治墓（丸山古墳）の風景画です。自転車でふらふらしてると発見。
京阪宇治駅より徒歩で10分ほど。
宇治の名前の由来となった人物らしい…
日本書紀や古事記に登場してるとのこと。
莵道と書いて「うじ」と読んでいました。
古墳だけあって、木々が生い茂ってます。
木々の中から鳥居が見えるところがまたいいですね。
ここ数年前に出来た「お茶と宇治のまち交流館 茶づな」から寄るのも良しですね。
月一開催される茶づなのマルシェも楽しいですよ。
This is a landscape painting of Uji no Wakaroko no Mikoto's Uji Tomb (Maruyama Kofun). I discovered it while meandering around on my bike.
It's about a 10-minute walk from Keihan Uji Station.
He's apparently the person who gave Uji its name...
Apparently he appears in the Nihon Shoki and Kojiki.
It's written as Uji but pronounced as Uji.
As you'd expect from an ancient tomb, it's overgrown with trees.
It's also nice that you can see the torii gate through the trees.
It's also nice to stop by Chazuna, the Tea and Uji Town Communication Center, which opened a few years ago.
The monthly Chazuna Marche is also fun.
