Its been a while since i left comments on my blog in English.

i am dying to study english , but i cant.
Actually, i am looking for a job now.

i am so disgusted by japanese recruiting system , where students start looking for a job one year before graduating from school.
i think its very unique and this sort of system cannot be seen in foreign countries.

In America, for example, all students go somewhere so that they can adapt themselves in a new environment after graduation.
Some take part in volunteer activities, others travel abroad..

How long they have been doing what interests them doesn't matter.
The most important thing is what they can learn from it.

After finishing tasks, they start looking for a job.

You can easily imagine the difference between Japanese students, who haven't prepared for adapting themselves to modern society , and American ones.

whats ur take on that issue? haha

.

I will answer questions from pre-1 grade in Eiken in English.

1.How many kinds of letters are there in Japanese?

2.When do you use katakana?

3.Counting things such as "pencil" in Japanese is troublesome?

I will do my best to answer your questions.

We have three kinds of letters---kanji, hiragana , and katakana, all ofwhich we use for different purposes.

Kanji was brought to Japan from China in ancient times and everything used to be written in it.

Hiragana is a simpler system like your alphabet.

Katakana is mainly used to express foreign words.

Counting is a little difficult. For instance , pencils are counted in Japanese like "ippon[one pencil], or "sanbon[three pencils].

I went to K's room to return the books I had barrowed at 3 o'clock.

In there , he hit me with the news that one of the students in this school , who is a two-year student , got a score of 780 in the TOEIC Test. Can you believe that? It is surprising that a two-year student got a score of 780!

I am sure that he will be able to catch up with me while a student.

Anyway , one of my juniors in the track and field club took STEP Eiken 2nd grade yesterday.

He said that he was sure that he failed the test, so I cheered him up and said to him "You can do it! You have a talent for English rather than Taguchi.(lol) Catch up with him and get ahead of him in English!."

I think Taguchi as a peason who has a talent for everything at least , but,,, what he says is different from what he does.lol

Today , i want to talk about a difference between TOEIC and Step Eiken.

When I am asked "Which should I take , TOEIC or Step Eiken", I would say "If you want to get a job , you had better take TOEIC because TOEIC is more international than Step Eiken. But , if you wanna improve your overall English ability , you should take Stem Eiken."

Generally speaking , English ability that I mention can be divided into four pieces:reading , listening , writing and speaking. RLWS is so important that English ability can't stand up without one of them.

TOEIC is designed to measure reading and listening skills. On the other hand , Step Eiken can assess all the four skills although the proportion of them is different.

That doesn't mean I dislike TOEIC test.lol

However, the fact remains that a peson who has a high score of TOEIC test cannot speak fluently...

In terms of it , TOFLE is the best choice to assess them more perfectly though it is much more difficult than TOEIC and Step Eiken(excluding 1st grade, of course)

Considering what i said , which do you choose , TOEIC or Eiken Step?
