今回紹介するバンドDream Theaterの
Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memoryというアルバムには
ストーリーがあります
いわゆるコンセプトアルバムというやつなんですが
これがまた素晴らしい出来です
ウィキペディアの簡単な説明によると
2ndアルバム『イメージズ・アンド・ワーズ』収録曲「メトロポリス」の続編で
悪夢に悩まされる青年・ニコラスの前世を巡るストーリーを、アルバム全体で表現している
ということです
その中でも後半の曲
彼が真相をほぼ理解し
死についての考え方を歌った曲です
この歌詞の感動的なこと・・・
涙が自然と出てくる曲です
