The H3B 5FEP is 100M POE switch with 5 10/100Mbps RJ45 POE ports. We also offer all ports gigabit for higher speed demand networks. It’s suitable for the network which does not require network transmission at long distance range.

H3B 5FEP is a POE network switch designed for IP cameras, NVR, IP phone, and wifi access point and other devices. According to the needs of security survilliance, it’s with high speed forwarding ability and big enough back bandwidth to ensure clear image transmission and fast video transmission without latency.

How to choose POE switches?

1. How many power is needed for the PD?

There are different POE standards with different output power. For example, as for IEEE802.3af, max output power for each port is 15.4W. As there is loss for the transmitting cables, it can power for PD within 12.95W power limit. For 48V standard POE switches which comlies with IEEE802.3at, it can power for PD within 25W power limit.

2. How many devices need to be powered?

There is a critical parameter for POE switches, which is the total power budget. Under IEEE802.3AF, for example, if a 24 port POE switch is with 370W power budget, then it can provide enough power for 24 ports. But if it’s under IEEE802.3AT with 30W per port, it will only be enough to power for 12 ports.

3. Specifications for the ports of switch.

First of all, we need to decide on the transmission rate. Then we will know if we need a 100M or 1000M POE switch. Secondly, we need to make sure if fiber port is needed for the network construction. If yes, then we have to choose fiber optic POE switches with more parameters to consider. If not, then it would be much easier, network POE switches would just be enough. What’s more, also need to consider if management function is required.
