Dear friends, family, and colleagues,
I'm writing to you because I have a very impassioned project. I'm creating an exciting new music/dance/multimedia piece called "Water in the Desert" with my husband Aaron Sherwood. We're artists in residence at The Tribeca Performing Arts Center in New York City, and are creating the piece during our residency. We're using technology to intertwine the human body with sounds and visuals, and foster interaction. There's a wonderful group of collaborative artists involved and we're set to premier the piece in June. The deal is we need $3,300 to make it happen.
To raise this money, we've joined Kickstarter, a great website for small independent projects. Many of these projects get funded through a lot of small donations, as well as larger ones. We launched our Water in the Desert Kickstarter page a few days ago and our deadline is March 22nd, so we have a little over three weeks to meet our goal. 今回は、わたしが心から情熱をそそいでいるプロジェクトの件でこのメールを送らせていただきました。わたしはいま、パートナーのアアロンシェアウッドとともに”Water in the Desert（砂漠の水）”という音楽とダンスとマルチメディアを組み合わせた新しいパフォーマンス作品をつくっています。
わたしたちはテクノロジーをつかって人間の身体と音楽、映像を融合させ、それらが ”つながり、影響し合う”作品を、NYにあるトライベッカパフォーミングアートセンターで、アーティストインレジデンスとして制作中です。すばらしい才能をもったコラボレーティブアーティストたちのグループとともに、この６月に初公演となります。このプロジェクトを実現させるための資金＄３．３００が必要なんです。
わたしたちは”キックスターター”でこの資金を集めることにしました。キックスターターとは、クリエーターが一般の人々から出資者を募って製品や作品づくりをするためのウェブサイトです。たくさんのプロジェクトが小額から多額の寄付によって、 実現しています。
そして４日前、わたしたちも”Water in the Desert（砂漠の水）”のキックスターターページをオープンしました。３月２２日が資金集めの締め切りで、残り２４日です。ぜひ下記のサイトをチェックしてみてください。
