槐(エンジュ)咲き 早も小さき 実も生りぬ 夏の盛りに 秋の備えか

常に草木は季節を先取りす

昨日都内神田橋辺りを歩く

人の暑きを憂ふ夏に槐は秋の実りを思ふ

天然は無慈悲なれば人も草木も己が力のみに頼るほかなし


Plants always lead the season.

Yesterday I walked around at Kanda-Bashi in Tokyo.

While people lament the summer heat, Japanese Pagoda Trees are preparing to bear fruit in the fall.

Nature is merciless, so people and plants alike must rely solely on their own strength.
