寒中の 冷たき風に 晒されし 葉牡丹の色 愈々(いよいよ)冴ぬ

このところ都内雪は降らねど寒気極めて厳し
昼時街を歩く人も心無し少なし
先日日和良き日に昼時散歩すれば裳裾より入たる風に我が身は縮みたり
なれど冷たき風に花壇の葉牡丹の色は愈々冴えたり
It hasn't snowed in Tokyo lately, but the coldness are severe.
When I took a walk in Tokyo the other day, the weather was fine, but the cold air coming in through the gaps in my sleeves shrunk my body.
However, it seems that the color of the leaf peony in the flower bed is becoming more and more vivid when it is exposed to the cold wind.
