Did you know that Audrey Hepburn was a humanitarian?
In 1988, Audrey accepted what she considered her greatest role as a UNICEF International Goodwill Ambassador. For five years Audrey dedicated herself to this unending humanitarian work. She traveled to over 20 countries witnessing innocent children struggling for survival. She reported these conditions to world leaders, governments and the international media, detailing provocative, often gruesome information about millions of children and their families caught in the midst of natural and man-made disasters.
Audrey's work on behalf of UNICEF has served to inspire many others to reach out, and Audrey's sons, Sean and Luca, and long time companion, Robert Wolders, created the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund. Today, the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund continues her work to bring help and hope to children around the world by raising funds and supporting organizations with the health, security and education of children as their central mission.
