The never give up spirit in Toshiyuki Hamaguchi has brought him to where he is today. The Japanese rider claimed his sixth overall SuperSports 600cc title in the season-ending round of the PETRONAS FIM Asian Grand Prix that was held at Zhuhai International Circuit, China here today.

The United Akeno Speed rider ended the 2008 season on a triumphant note as he won Race 2 in style to be crowned as the new Champion. Hamaguchi made up for lost ground in Race 1 whereby he crashed at Turn 4 and managed to resume the race to finish in tenth placing with the time of 30:57.018s. As for Race 2, Hamaguchi went all out not only to ensure he finish ahead of his closest rival, Ahmad Fuad Baharudin who is the only rider that can spoil his plan in the title chase but he wants to take the chequered flag as well.

浜口はレース１、4コーナーで転倒をしましたが、なんとかレースを再開し、10位（30:57.018秒）でゴールを迎えました。
レース2に関しては、浜口はライバルよりも確実に前を走らなければなりませんでした。ファドは唯一浜口とタイトル争いをしているライダーで、彼も同様にチャンピオンを狙っています。

The 38-year old had a one to one battle with 2007 Champion, Decha Kraisart in Race 2 and he took a bold step to overtake Decha of PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha Thailand in the last turn of the last lap to cross the finish line first. Hamaguchi completed the 18-lap race in a total time of 30:09.965s as he piped Decha by only 0.073 seconds. Decha finished second with the time of 30:10.038s while Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman (PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha Malaysia) came in third with 30:11.816s.

訳：38歳の浜口は　2007年度のチャンピオン　PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha Thailand のDechaと一対一の戦いを繰り広げましたが、ファイナルラップ・最終コーナーで追い抜きました。
浜口は30:09.965秒で18周を終え、Dechaはわずか0.073秒差の30:11.816秒でフィニッシュ2位。PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha MalaysiaのAzlanは30:11.816秒で3位でレースを終えました。

With the win and collected 10 points in Race 1, Hamaguchi secured his 2008 SuperSports 600cc title with a total of 173 points and his face was filled with joy once the completed Race 2. “This year was not an easy ride for me. I was disqualified in Round 1 (Indonesia) and was forced to skip Round 2 (Indonesia). I only begin my campaign in Round 3 at Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia. Even though, we were far behind but we never give up. We work really hard each round and I am glad we achieve what we wanted. I want to thank every member in my team for their effort,” said Hamaguchi.

訳：浜口はトータル173ポイントで2008年 SuperSports 600cc タイトルを手に入れました。そして彼の顔はレース2を終え喜び一杯に満たされました。

1戦目（インドネシア）では失格にされ、2戦目は全日本戦とレース日程が重なり欠場を余儀なくされ、3戦目のセパン　国際サーキット（マレーシア）から始めるしかありませんでした。

我々はそれぞれのラウンドを一生懸命こなし、そしてほしかった物、目指したものを手に入れることが出来、本当に嬉しいです。
チームメンバーの努力に感謝しています。』っと浜口が言いました。

His main contender, Fuad did not live up to the expectation as he only managed to finish fifth in Race 1 (13 points) while came in sixth in Race 2 with 10 points. Fuad of PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha Malaysia has to be satisfied with his second overall position as he accumulated a total of 160 points. “I am disappointed with my results today. I was so close yet so far from winning the title. In Race 1, I had problems with the front break and could not push all out to get a place on the podium. It was frustrating as it is an opportunity for me to steal the lead from Hamaguchi in the standings as I know he crashed in Race 1 and won’t be able to catch up with the front runners. As for Race 2, my mechanics did try to solve the braking problems but I was not confident to go all out. I tried a few times to push harder but I can’t control my machine 100% as I overshot at the corners a few times. Therefore, I have to settle for sixth placing in Race 2,” said the 29-year old rider.
In Race 1, previous Race 2 winner, Chalermpol Polamai put up another strong performance to win the race ahead of his teammate, Decha. The 27-year old rider saw the opportunity when Decha slowed down due to his overheating engine and overtook him at the last turn in the last lap. Chalermpol of PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha Thailand finished the 18-lap race in a total time of 30:16.139s, followed by Decha with 30:16.973s. Azlan came in third with 30:24.873s.
Azlan ended his campaign third overall with 149 points while his teammate, Mohd Zamri Baba is fourth in the standings with 127 points. Race 1 winner, Chalermpol ranks fifth in the standings with 114 points.
