English version of "重いものを軽く(#113)", my post on 113th solo training of Musokai Karate.
My son got well and went to school today.
Thank goodness!
Mt. Nantai-san could be viewed beautifully from usual parking lot.
Yes.
Mt. Nantai-san is far from my hometown Iwatsuki.
Then today's Musokai Karate training before going to work was ...
1. Bo training
・Stepping-in Kesa-uchi,
・Sequence of Kesa-uchi - Ishizuki-uchi - Maki-uchi - Kesa-uchi,
・Tokumine-no-kun kata twice
Not good.
Each strike lacked sharpness.
I need more practice.
2. Karate Kihon
・Mae-keri (front kicks) on Shumoku stance
・Mawashi-keri (roundhouse kihon) on Shumoku stance
・Tsuki (Punishes) on Naifanchi stance
Both keris and tsukis shall be like bullwhips!
Not bad.
3. Karate katas
・Channan kata once
・Naifanchi kata twice
Free fall with pulling legs up in Channan functioned better than yesterday.
This body control seemed to match 90 degree turnabout.
Imagined the opponent's weight during Naifanchi kata practice. But this image made myself strained.
I should be more relaxed during kata. Unnecessary strain will lessen effectiveness of kata movements.
To keep their effectiveness, movements in kata have to be practiced more lightly.
Rightly & lightly practiced kata movements will give us much stronger power than that generated from strained body.
Kata is difficult.
Just 15 minutes training.
Note: Who am I?
