English version of my Japanese-written post on Musokai solo training,足引き抜き重力落下(#112).

My son is still sick, but I've got used to this situation.

Unusual morning that requires me to make a lunch box, prepare clothes and medicines, and take him to children care facility in hospital before going to work, did no longer bother me .... so much.

The view of Mt.Tsukuba-san from usual parking lot, relaxed me.

Can't you find Mt.Tsukuba-san in above photo?

Take a closer look!

No matter how small it may look, this holy mountain always tell me something.

I decided to do just 5 minutes training.
It seemed boost my concentration on work though it would consume my time.

*****

Bo training
I practiced only one sequence of Bo strikes, which was from Kesa-uchi to Ishizuki-uchi to Maki-uchi to Kesa-uchi again.
Couldn't control Bo sharply this morning.

Karate Kihon
・Mae-kerit (Front kicks) on Shumoku stance.
・Tsuki (Punchs) on Naifanchi stance

Focusing on;
・Maximum stretch of psoas majors and iliac muscles as for Mae-keri,
・Muscle contraction of Latissimus dorsi that bring tsuki forwards and backwards instantly as for tsuki.

Both seemed not bad.

Karate kata
・Channan kata twice

"Channan" is lost kata, which once existed and was learned by Choki Motobu. He also testified that Pinnan katas derived from Channan.

Musokai's Channan is reproduced kata by shihan Arakaki based on various testimonies.

Its impression is "concentrated Pinnan katas".
One of my favorite kata.

All turnabout movements in this kata, each of them can also be seen in normal Pinnan katas, are interpreted as throwing techniques.

Today an idea hit me.
If I pull my legs up during free fall process, the expected effect to taking enemy down might be enhanced.

I adopted this idea in my just twice kata practice.

Free fall of myself got faster and (seemingly) heavier. So taking down effect seemed got enhanced.
But it got very difficult to control myself.

Is this good idea?
I'm not sure. But felt it was worth exploring more.

Just 5 minutes training ended very fast.

It was very short time.
Musokai Karate was inspiring in this short time training.
