I was manufacturing an emergency vehicle using aluminum with stainless steel bolts. In Japan, oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance are required, and stainless steel bolts are indispensable specifications. Use high-tensile steel bolts for chassis that require load bearing. Hardness and strength are different. The more flexible, the stronger the breakage. Around the time Drum Workshop released True-Pitch Tuning Rods, Pearl Drums released Precision-fit Stainless Steel Tension Rods. Right is T-062 Steel Tension Rods, left is SST-5035 Precision-fit Stainless Steel Tension Rods. This is only my opinion. The timing at which rust occurs is the same for both. However, removing the rust of Stainless Steel Tension Rods requires a lot of time and effort. I like the old Steel Tension Rods for both touch and feel. #pearldrums #pearl_drums
