Have you ever seen this picture? Do you know about this happening? I think that many people have seen this picture, a man who has a paper in which some Korean words written.
To people who can’t remember it, or didn’t know, I will write down the incident more. It was August 10th, 2012, in Cardiff, United Kingdom, a Korean soccer player picked up a plastic card, just finishing the third tournament of male soccer practice of Olympic Games, Japan vs Korea in London. The card said that Doku-Tou(Take-Shima in Japanese) is one of Korea’s land.
Then, all the people can remember or know about this picture. I wonder how you think about this. There were many strong opinions. Actually, these behaviors in Olympic Games are habited by the IOC (International Olympic Committee)’s Charter. “The goal of Olympic is to place sport at the service of the harmonious development of man, with a view to promoting a peaceful society concerned with the preservation of human dignity."They declare that they don't accept any political behavior.
However, such things have been happened in Olympic Games, from its origin. I would like to talk about in this section, the political aspects of Olympic Games. This, the biggest event of sports is paid attention around all over the world. By being so, it is assumed to have great influence and used for political purpose.I think that you can learn about international politic through this event. It is so good chance, isn’t it? Let me tell you what kind of subject I will deal with each page.
I would like to construct this section with good examples which will promote your understanding. In the second page to forth page, I will show you the other example of past. For instance, Hitler’s Berlin Olympic, the black power movement in Mexico in 1968, and boycott in 1970’s to 1980’s. These examples will show you how Olympic Games were used badly by politic.
I also pick up some examples which the Olympic Games affected better to the world. In the end of this subject, I would like to deal with future of Olympic Games.
