いよいよ明日から始まる 奇数月のスポーツ と言えば…
「大相撲秋場所 （東京・両国国技館）」 なのでございます
今場所の注目もいろいろとありますが
まずは、横綱 「白鵬」。 あの 「千代の富士」 がもつ歴代２位の
優勝回数 (31) を目指します。
日本人大関 「稀勢の里」 「琴奨菊」 「豪栄道 (新大関)」 という
３人の活躍も期待。 ちなみに現在横綱は、「鶴竜」 「日馬富士」 を
加えた、モンゴル出身の３人です。
「遠藤」 など、将来有望な力士も伸びてきており、ついに
「若乃花」 以来の日本人横綱の誕生も現実味を帯びてきている
状況。今後、ますます盛り上がってきそうで楽しみなのです！
「日本の国技 (a national sport)」 である 「相撲」
英語に関してちょっと嬉しいのは、「Sumo」 もそうですが
「rikishi」 「Yokozuna」 「Ozeki」 「dohyo」 「senshuraku」 など
多くの名称が、そのまま日本語読みで使われていること◎
インターネットで検索してみたら、「当日券」 であれば
通常の映画館よりも、少し高め程度の料金から席がとれます。
時間が合えば、はじめての生観戦に行っちゃおうかなぁ…

Hi everyone!!
When it comes to Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament (Aki-basho),
it is held at Ryogoku Kokugikan in every September.
Because of 15 days each basho, it will continue from Sep 14 to 28.
Now, there are 3 Japanese ozeki, Kisenosato, Kotoshogiku and Goeido. It is said that acquiring the position of Yokozuna is required outstanding records in 2 consecutive tournaments.
Plus, the rikishi have to be Ozeki, the second highest rank in Sumo
at that time.
It is true that becoming Yokozuna is very severe & tough,
but I hope that current 3 Japanese Ozeki aim at the highest position from now on. That would be what many sumo lovers expect to see. :-)
