「ポジティブ」 or 「ネガティブ」 な感情を表す表現は
英語でも、もちろん日本語でもたくさんあります。
個人的に、慣れるまで、とっても曖昧だったものの1つが
excited
「熱狂した」「興奮した」「張りきった」
「わくわくした」「ドキドキした」「うきうきした」「ゾクゾクした」
「胸が高鳴った」「胸を躍らせた」「躍起となった」
「いらいらした」「掻き立てられた」「血が騒いだ」
「色めき立った」「ときめき立った」…
発音は [iksaitid]。 アクセント [sa] の前で
感情によっては、「少しためて or 間をおいて」 から
（「まさに！or 本当に！」 みたいな感じで）
自然に、力強くなる 「音の響き」 が
この意味を、「さらに引き立てている」？と、自分は感じます（笑）
今でも、たまに焦ると間違えてしまう使い分けが…
"excited" － "exciting"
英文を読むとき・聞くときは、問題ないと思います。
ただ、話すときは、「日本語の意味」 や 「文法・頭」 で
考える時間はないので
1. I'm excited!!
2. I enjoyed the exciting game!!
いつからか、以上のようにそのままインプットしました。
◇ 「自分（ら）・あなた（方）・彼（ら）・彼女（ら）」 が
熱くなっていたら ⇒ 「-ed」
I'm excited!!
Are you excited?
He is excited!!
Was she excited?
They were very excited!!
◇ 「試合など、何か（誰か） を指す（限定する）」 とき
「試合など、何か（誰か） を 主語 にして説明する」 とき ⇒ 「-ing」
the exciting game
an exciting story
an exciting blog
the exciting people
The game was very exciting!!
いろいろな 「文法書の説明」・「解説の仕方」 がありますよね。
基本的には、瞬時に、正しく使えられるかどうかが大切だと
思います。単純な自分に合った1つの「覚え方・考え方」 として
少しでも、参考になれば幸いです！！

According to the Collins COBUILD Dictionary,
1. excited : "if you are excited, you are so happy that you cannot relax, especially because you are thinking about something pleasant that is going to happen to you." "I'm very excited about the possibility of playing for England's first team."
2. exciting : "If something is exciting, it makes you feel very happy or enthusiastic." "The race itself is very exciting."
Though I couldn't understand them previously, I'm getting familiar with these usages. :-)
