Many candidates see "result declared" and close the tab after finding their roll number. A result notice usually holds much more, and missing it can cost a selection.
Three things to note from every result
- Category-wise cut-off. Even if you cleared, write down the cut-off for your category. It tells you how safe your margin was for the next stage.
- Next stage schedule. Document verification, skill tests and medicals are often announced in the same PDF, sometimes only a week later.
- Reserve or waiting list. Some bodies publish a reserve list. If your name is on it, you may still be called when selected candidates do not join.
If you did not clear
Check your marks when the score card is released, compare with the cut-off, and look for the next notification of the same exam. Most exams repeat every year with a similar pattern.
