Mars Riconessans (part 1)

NASA announced that Mars Riconessans, a Mars-observation satellite, got into the circular orbit of Mars. This satellite slows down gradually during half a year, and the oval-shaped orbit will be changed to a low orbit for Mars observation. It will start a real observation from November.

Mars Riconessans approached to Mars from the South Pole side, and it began jetting the engine at a point of 400 km of the altitude, to put it into a circular orbit.

New color of DS

Nintendo started to sell new colors, Iceblue and Enamelmabe, of DS Lite from today. These products were expected to be sold on the second this month with Crystalwhite, but Nintendo postponed the release date because of the accident of those manufacturing process. A lot of people had waited today, and more than 2,000 people made a long line at front a store.

A lot of the popularity and the demand concentrate to DS Lite. I expect that the reason of the popularity is on the generality. DS can be used as a dictionary, studying material or game machine. It is not just for the game. That covers many kinds of requirements for the users with the double display. This generality caught the people's heart, so DS has explosive popularity.

80% of e-mail is ...

MAAWG, which is a group taking measures against the spam mail, announced that 80% of all E-mail is meaningless spam mail. According to a research, the number of blocked E-mail by ISP or network operator as spam is 61 billion and 342 million. Anti-spam software for mail servers have blocked 142.5 billion E-mail. Only 36.5 billion E-mail have passed without block. This means 80% of traffick is useless.

I was surprised at the number of spam. I have never received spam until now because ISP provides excellent services for customers. The system is so excellent that I do not notice such a big problem. I found that the effort of ISP makes a good service and I can use the Internet safely.

From fedora core

This is my first updating from my notebook. My notebook has two OS, Linux(fedora core) and Windows, and which now I boot is Linux. Fedora core is really easy to use, but installation of software is a little complicated. I love this useful Windows-like interface. Today, I installed a software for playing DVD or movie files. It needed a few hours for the installation. Windows is too complete OS because there is nothing to do for installation except for double-click. It is good but meaningless for a student hoping to be a professional engineer of computer science area. It is important to build OS's environment by myself with many kinds of suffering.

Blu-ray Disc

Blu-ray is a blue laser used for High recording density to the media, CD or DVD. A red laser is used for recording nowadays, and the capacity of the media is 4.7GB at most. The capacity of Blu-ray disc will be awfully bigger than the former products. The data size which can be written in the Blu-ray media, is 27GB. PS3's DVD-drive will adopt this technology. It is wonderful development of the PC media. I really want to use them as soon as possible.
