The good sales of Nintendo DS could not compensate for the decline of GAMECUBE and Gameboy Advance which have sold from 2001. Generally, the machines of older generation are relatively lower on the cost for manufacture, so the profit of game company become higher.
To blew into the video game machine's market, Nintendo has plan to launch the new machine Wii for the middle fourth term. It means that the wrestling ring for the three companies; Microsoft(Xbox 360), Sony(PS3) and Nintendo(Wii), was built up.
Nintendo indicates that they have an intention to sell six million Will by March in next year. Sony devises a plan for selling three million PS3 on same term.
Nintendo has forecast the sales to be 110 billion yen of 21.8% up as account settlement which was closed March in 2007. It is little lower than the estimated value 113.74 billon yen of Reuters Estimates, calculated by seventeen analysts.
After the announcement, the stock prices of Nintendo went to 17.45 thousand yen of 8.1% down, and the slipped range was expanded.
The portfolio manager of Meiji Doresnar Asset management, Mr. Nishimura, said, "This sudden drop may be caused by that the expectation was higher and investors got into selling to see the prospect of afterward.
In E3 trading show held at biggining of this month, the line of people waiting for playing the trial model of Wii was much longer than that of PS3. It might show the bigger demand to Wii.
For the first three weeks in May, stock prices of Nintendo went 17.4% up while the market tended to decline.

Nintendo disclosed that the profit decreased 19% because of the reduction of demand for Gamecube, Gameboy Advance and video game software 25th this month; however, they expected the good tendency of this year by the popularity of Nintendo DS and wii.
But, the forecast profit became lower than the consensus of the market, and the stock prices fell more than 8% down. Investors run into the determining of the gain after the sudden rise of the stock prices at the beginning of this month.
Nintendo DS has succeeded on the easy-use software like "nintendogs" or "Train the brain, DS training for adults", then the game population was expanded from teenagers to women or middle age, and the demand on the market was going well.

The user makes uploaded pictures open for everybody, but it is possible to see only for himself or herself after setting. It was said that Riya's image identifying technique was revolutionary, and it was in much of attention. It has reported that Google USA would acquire Riya, but both deny that now as the consequence. Riya explains that they provide the service for free onward, but the prospective business model is not identified.

Using an upload software prepared for Windows use by Riya, it enables to upload thousands of images. Although all images are unified the size into 800x600 pixel, there is no limitation on the upload capacity anymore. The faces of a person or characters on a sign are identified automatically, then pictures are attached tags provisionally by the image recognition technique. If the tag is wrong, it is possible to make Riya learn the mistake. By the function, pictures taken at a party on which his or her family or friends photographed in many combination, for example, are tagged appropriately and automatically. If the learning function works well, the persons on pictures taken in another party are detected from the past data and tagged. What's more, putting mouse cursor on a picture, the tag information of detected persons' face or objects is displayed, and users can correct or delete tags manually.

Riya, which is an arrangement and retrieval service of pictures, was released 25th this month as beta edition by a venture business company of image recognition. So far it was closed beta test only for invited persons, but now it was opened for everyone. Riya provides a service which enables to arrange and retrieve pictures taken by digital camera or so force for free; however, there are many troublesome workes of attaching tags or sentences for arrangement of pictures. The speciality of Riya is removing these annoyance by automation making the best use of image recognition technique.
