Crime prevention effect of convenience store

According to a news article, the number of cases of which women or children run into a convenience store because of something dangerous or emergency occasions is 5,325, for half a year from October last year to March this year. In the 5,325 cases, the greatest case was evacuation from a suspicious person like a molester or stalker. Franchise chain association in Japan has started SS( safety station) activity from October last year, the activity seems to be very effective to protect people from danger. Convenience store is open 24 hours, so the crime prevention's effect is so high especially in late night. If policeman take convenience store as a patrol course or rest room frequently by the cooperation between police and franchise association, the large-scale activity may make the system greater.
