したのが大きかった。露兵もグリネイドを
投げたが、へっぴり腰なので、
まるで見当違いのところに落下してしまった。

ロマンによるこの戦いをめぐる証言。
“Our assault group knocked the Russians out of a strongpoint, and we went in there and began to gain a foothold,” the fighter recalls the details of the battle. "We, a group of six people, occupied a separate trench and immediately began to “dig in”. The extra depth pretty much helped us later, and it really saved my life... We had no time to build up properly when the shelling began. One of the shells fell very close: I was strongly affected, my ears were stuffed up, my head swam... I realized that I was shell-shocked, but there was no time to pay attention to my condition, because the enemy infantry were approaching us. I took a position on the right flank, and just from that side the Russians moved along the trench. That is, only I alone could fire, because the other guys were right behind me. They said on the radio that they saw from the drone that six occupiers were walking - the first group, and then a dozen more hid in the depths. I began to prepare for close combat, I asked to bring additional cartridges and grenades..."
“At first I heard voices, and then a face cautiously leaned out from behind the turn of the trench. I got a good look at him, we locked eyes… Gunshots and grenade “exchanges” followed. I tried to keep them from getting up for aimed fire and grenade throwing. Therefore, the Russians were throwing their grenades everywhere but could not target my trench. My position was comfortable enough, that's why I was shooting better, and threw grenades precisely. As a result, I eliminated one enemy, one more, a third ... The other three began to crawl away, perhaps among them was a wounded man. Apparently, they did not expect to be chased. I ran along the trench, caught up and fired several bursts. I did not approach and check what happened to them, because the place was being shot through, and quickly retreated to my position. However, the drone team reported all of them to be 200's [dead- Ed.]. Yes, I had no doubts, because I shot accurately...” he said.
“Soon a battle tank opened fire on us. I sat down at the bottom of the trench, and it's good that I deepened it. One shell exploded so close that I was thrown out of the trench, my ears bled, I didn’t hear anything, and I saw “fog” in my eyes... The guys immediately rushed to me, helped me get to the next trench. I stayed there for almost 2 hours, because heavy shelling continued. Then, already at the evacuation point, where there were several 300 people besides me, we got stuck for another 2 hours because of the shelling. Only when it calmed down, the lightly wounded, like me, were taken out on stretchers to the “heavy” cars, and we were finally able to leave...” says Roman.
