毎年恒例、GGISサマースクール開催中です🍧⛱🌞🌈👀

サマースクールは朝9時から13時まで過ごすコースと、17時まで過ごすコースがあります。

学習テーマは一週間ごとに変わります。5日間続けて参加することで、英語への理解が深まります。

特別イベントや課外授業を毎週用意しています🌻👀🌈

Week 1: Animal Kingdom

第1週目は、色々な生き物がテーマです🐰🐶🦒

前半では昆虫について学びました🐜🐞🦋

続いて、爬虫類についてのレッスンです。

トカゲ、ワニ、カメ、ヘビの写真をたくさん見て、先生の質問に答えていきます🐢🐊🐍🦎

赤ちゃんの時は同じ姿かな？

どうして「うろこ」があるのかな？

カメの甲羅って「うろこ」のこと？

うろこの役割を再現したクラフトで理解を深めました。

最終日は、海洋生物についてです。

複数のスクリーンに世界各地の海と水族館のライブカメラを映しだし、

ミッションカードにある海洋生物をみつけます。

水族館と違った楽しさで盛り上がりました。

Day 4🍹

Hello GG families! We’re getting close to the end of the week.
Today, our focus is on reptiles. There are many types of reptiles from lizards and crocodiles to turtles and snakes. Each of them is different, even in regards to features they share, such as how a snake can have soft scaly skin while a tortoise has hard scaly skin. Besides this, we also discussed how each one eats, hunts, and even which ones are venomous. Then we designed our own reptiles on paper and used some scrap materials to simulate their skin and other body parts.

Day 5🌈

Hello GG families! Happy Friday!
Today, unfortunately it was too hot for us to make our way to Shinagawa Aquarium, so we decided to make our own. We used some iPads and screens to display live aquarium cameras and created a mock aquarium setup in our classroom. Since we were planning to do a scavenger hunt, we did one using the live streams to see how many of our fish we could find. And as a bonus, we got a bunch of ingredients to make our own pizzas! It was an absolute blast and an amazing experience to cap off the week!

毎年恒例、GGISサマースクールがスタートしました🍧⛱

今年は4週間開催です🌞🌈👀

たくさんの応募があったので、アネックス校（戸越銀座）と武蔵小山校の2キャンパスで同時開催となりました☺

サマースクールは朝9時からのプログラムです。

初めて参加するお友達を迎えて、名前や年齢、通っている学校など自己紹介からはじまりました。

夏休みにしたいことについて質問すると、花火大会やお気に入りのゲームの話まで広がりました☺

身体を動かして緊張をほぐし、いよいよレッスンのスタートです🌻👀🌈

Week 1: Animal Kingdom

第1週目は、生き物博士を目指すべく、色々な動物について学びます🐰🐶🦒

哺乳類や昆虫、海洋生物など、知っている動物の名前をあげていきました🐠🐢🐊🦋

人間とは違う身体の部位など、先生がひとつずつ説明していきます。

身を守るために「カモフラージュ」として身体の色を変える動物、

もともと花や葉っぱに身体の形を似せた動物がいることがわかりました。

餌を狩るために罠をしかける動物について学びました💻📚🔬

クラフトでは、ひとりひとりがオリジナルの生物を骨格から作り上げました。

海洋生物についてのレッスンでは、キットを使って化石を丁寧に掘りだします。

三葉虫と鮫の歯をたくさん見つけました。

そしていよいよ、生徒達に大人気の昆虫についてのレッスンです！🐜🐞

バッタ、コオロギ、カブトムシ、クワガタを観察します。

何を食べるのかな

何年生きるのかな

どうやって鳴くのかな

ワークシートのミッションを解決していきます。

近くの公園でリフレッシュもできました。

Day 1🍹

Hello GG families! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day on our first day of summer school. We started off with introductions, talking a little bit about ourselves, and sharing our favorite foods, games, and what we like to do for summer.
Afterwards, we went right into our lesson on fossils and trilobites. Trilobites are pre-historic marine arthropods that existed millions of years ago and are the ancestors of what we know today as roly-polies. Nowadays, we study them as fossils and learn lots of valuable information from them, such as living conditions in ancient marine ecosystems. After a fun deep dive into the world of marine fossil research, we capped it off with our own excavation, where we used an excavation set to dig and discover our own marine fossils.
It was an exciting start to the week, and we can’t wait to see what new adventures we’ll have tomorrow!⛱

Day 2🌈

Hello GG families! It’s a cooler, cloudier day today so we can finally go outside.
Today, we explored the fantastic world of Jellyfish! Jellyfish have existed for millions of years, before even the dinosaurs and are found in all corners of the ocean. They have a reputation for being the scary aquatic creatures that can give you some nasty stings at the beach, but they’re also considered to be incredibly beautiful wonders of nature. We talked all about the different body parts of jellyfish and how they move around and acquire food. Then, we finished off with making jellyfish kites that we tested out at the park!
It was another fun-filled day, with even more to come! 🍉

Day 3🍧

Hello GG families! We’re halfway through the week, and it’s a beautiful day.
Today is bug hunting day! Well, more like insect observation day. We learned all about the different parts of an insect’s body, where we find particular insects, and what kind of views people have of certain insects in different parts of the world. We also talked some unique qualities certain insects have, like how crickets use their hind legs to chirp, or how beetles have a hard shell to protect their wings. Afterwards, we took out some magnifying glasses and observed some actual insects! We had a few dead insects on hand, such as cicadas and grasshoppers, but we also brought in some alive stag beetles and rhinoceros beetles! Everyone was really excited to get their hands on these creepy crawlies.
It was another fun-filled day, with even more to come!🌻

皆様に見守られ、応援され、GGISスプリングスクール3週間を

無事に終了することができました。心より感謝申し上げます。

新学期が始まる前に、たくさんの友達ができた素晴らしい3週間でした🌈👀🌸

名前を覚えるだけではなく、好きな食べ物をあてっこしたり、

お気に入りの旅行先を紹介したり、夏が来たらまた会おうね、と話をしました。

「英語の言葉」をあてっこするジェスチャーゲームは大人気で、

生徒達はたくさんのメダルを獲得しました。

最終日の課外授業では、エコル戸越・戸越公園へ行ってまいりました！

常設されているたくさんの体験型展示が、子ども達の好奇心を引き出します。

自分が動くと、それに合わせて映像も動きます。

何匹のいきものを捕まえることができたかな？

会場のすみずみまで、探し回りました🏃✨

小学生は、次から次へと難しい操作にチャレンジします。

操作をあっという間に覚えて、先生に披露してくれました👍😎

Day 4🌸

Happy spring, everyone! Today, we kicked off the morning with an awesome meeting by asking the students about their favorite foods! They were all super pumped to share their culinary preferences. Later in the afternoon, we spiced things up with a lively game of charades! Using their bodies, the students had to act out the words they were given. While they struggled at first, they quickly caught on and became charades champions! Afterward, we headed to the park for some seesaw and slide action, and boy, did they have a blast! We wrapped up the day by cozying up with a nice movie to wind down the evening. What a fantastic day!🌸

Day 5🌸

Today we celebrated the last day of Spring School 2024!
Thank you all for joining. We hope you had a great time!
Although it was a bit gloomy outside, we were able to go on our excursion to ECORU Togoshi!
The students got to play in an interactive room filled with animals that disappear once you touch them. They also wrote down their wishes for the Shinagawa ward, and what they would like it to look like in 50 to a 100 years from now. Lastly, they also learned about the ecological impact of our life on earth, and how we can be more mindful about our presence on this planet.
Overall, it was a great experience and the students seemed to have had a lot of fun!
*They also received a little snack bag, so please make sure to check their bags when they get home! 🍬

GGISでは、スプリングスクール3週目を迎えました！

スプリングスクールでは、毎週新しいお友達が参加します。

今週は、生徒達にとって「入学・進級する特別な1週間」です。

生徒達は「新しい学年になった自分」や、

「チャレンジしたいこと」について発表しました🌈👀🌸

「意見交換」をするレッスンを多くとりいれています。

暖かくなる季節なので「身体」「運動」「健康」について考えます。

ディスカッションタイムでは

「人間にとって大切な眠る時間」

について話し合いをしました。

「毎日どれくらい眠っているかな」

「起きてる時間は何時間くらい？」

という話題から始まりました。

小さな生徒は時計のクラフトで、眠る時間を表しました🌞⏰

小学生は、円グラフで行動の時間を表しました✍💤

眠らないとどうなるの？というクイズは、

子ども達にとって興味深かったようです。

たくさんの意見が出て、勢いがとまりませんでした。

GGISは異年齢混合で過ごす時間を大切にしています。

小さな生徒達は、お兄さんお姉さんを真似しながら

英語はもちろん、お友達と仲良くする方法や

教室での過ごし方、公園での遊び方を学びます。

チームにわかれて、英語の綴りを競争する「スペリング・ビー」大会を開催しました。

仲間を応援したり、正解を囁きあったりする姿は、団結力の証です👍😎

Day 1🌸

It's the last week of spring school! Though this morning started a bit gloomy, luckily, it turned around and we got to head to the park! Today's lesson kicked off with a group introduction. We delved into their names, ages, and birthdays, and even dished about their interests. It was a riot getting to know their pals, topped off with a lively round of Kahoot! Afterward, we had a blast playing in the park! Once we returned to the classroom, we were so exhausted we couldn't wait for lunch! By the time we finished, we wrapped up the day with a nice reflection.

Day 2🌸

Happy Spring School! Today was an absolute blast! The day began with a lively group introduction that set the tone for the excitement to come. Our lesson was anything but ordinary - we dove headfirst into a fun debate! While it took the students a bit of time to grasp the concept, once they got the hang of it, they were unstoppable! We debated about the merits of agreeing or disagreeing about bedtime and the sheer joy of playing outside. The energy in the room was electric as ideas flew back and forth.After our engaging debate, we seamlessly transitioned into park mode! We gathered our things and headed out. It was pure joy to watch them embrace the freedom of the outdoors with such enthusiasm.

Day 3🌸
Hello all!!! Today's Spring School was great! We started our day with a fun conversation about our likes and dislikes, but soon after, the children were talking about zodiac signs! Right after, we started a fantastic activity. A spelling bee contest! Something very common in other countries was a brand new experience for most friends today! We had two friends at the time coming in the front to spell the words we gave him. Seeing the kids cheering for their friends and whispering the correct answer to themselves was so much fun. So exciting! If their friends made a mistake, we spelled the correct word together.
As it was raining today, we stayed in and played a fascinating Blindfold game. You can't imagine how much energy was in the room. We ended up the game panting and sweating!

肌寒い朝や夜が続いていますが、生徒達は寒さにも負けません🌸

Happy Spring, everyone! Today, we kicked off our day with a lively circle time! Students split into groups to chat about the day and check out the weather. We even spiced things up with a little game to get our bodies moving! Then, onto the main event: Easter excitement! We dove into planning an epic egg hunt, followed by some creative Easter bag decorating for tomorrow's big outing. After all that, we hit the park for an action-packed adventure. There were stretches, running, and endless fun! By lunchtime, our brave adventurers were happily exhausted and ready to refuel.

Day 5🌸
Happy last day of Spring school!
Today was a whirlwind of fun as we spent it with our wonderful friends! Despite the weather's mood swings, we made the most of our time together. We started by unleashing our creativity with a colorful cherry blossom mural, painting our way to masterpieces while giggling and chatting away.

But the excitement didn't stop there! We brought the picnic indoors for some cozy bonding time, sharing snacks and stories, making memories that will last a lifetime. And to top it all off, we indulged in some messy yet delightful cookie decorating, turning plain treats into edible works of art. It was a day filled with laughter, creativity, and friendship that we'll cherish forever!

春の嵐が過ぎたようで、来週かた汗ばむほどの温かさにもなるとか・・・🌸☺

今年もスプリングスクールがスタートいたしました！

春を迎える準備として、おもいきり身体を動かすフィットネス、お花見、新しい出会いがテーマです🌞🌈👀🌸

初めて参加するお友達は、緊張した様子で教室に到着しました😆

サークルタイムでは一人一人、ゆっくりと自己紹介をします。

少しずつ笑顔になっていきます👀👏

自己紹介では、ひとりひとり、好きなものやお気に入りについて発表しました。

「恐竜が好きなのは誰だっけ？」🕰️✨

「公園遊びが好きなお友達は何人いたかな？」💻🔭

など、クイズ形式であっという間にお友達の名前を覚えました。

「感謝の気持ち」について考えるレッスンでは、家族やお友達へ、感謝の気持ちを書きました。

先生がびっくりするような質問をしました。

「もしパパやママがいなかったら？」

「もしお友達が消えちゃったら？？？」

色々な意見がとびだしました。

書く練習では、今日のできごとをジャーナルにします。

難しいところも、お友達や先生がたくさん助けてくれて、仕上げることができました✏

上級生は、物語の執筆に挑戦です。

自分でキャラクターを作り上げることは、子ども達にとってだいすきな「創作」の過程の一つです。

魅力的な話を作成するために、必要な「プロット」についても話し合いをしました🌸

フリータイムでは違った年齢のお友達とも盛り上がります。

先生と一緒に新しい表現もどんどん吸収していきます。

Day 1💌

Happy first day of Spring School 2024! Today we kicked off with a delightful round of introductions, where we shared our fondest memories and celebrated our biggest achievements of the year. The classroom buzzed with excitement as we dove into a lively quiz to test our memory of each other's quirks and favorites. After all the laughter and camaraderie, we took a moment to reflect on the day's adventures. With spirits high and friendships blooming, we can't wait to see what tomorrow has in store!

Day 2🌸

Happy second day of Spring School! Today, we delved into the wonderful world of mindfulness! Not only did we explore techniques to become more mindful individuals, but we also took a moment to reflect on the things we're grateful for. Our activity involved filling out a sheet where we expressed gratitude for our amazing families and friends. We brainstormed reasons why we feel blessed to have them in our lives. Then, to get those bodies moving and grooving, we jumped into some super fun yoga activities! Let's keep the positive vibes flowing! 🌸 🧘‍♂️

Day 3🌈

Spring School kicked off with a bang once again! During our lively morning circle time, we delved into discussing not only our favorite animals but also the crucial rules for park outings. Our activity was an absolute blast as we embarked on a journey to become phenomenal writers. The students had a blast unleashing their creativity through some imaginative writing exercises! But before diving into all the fun, we broke down the essential story structures and highlighted the significance of strong characters and engaging plots. Afterward, we were all geared up for our trip to the park. What a jam-packed and exhilarating day it turned out to be! 🌸

今年のウィンタースクールは

「エレメントの魔法　身近な要素の秘密」がテーマでした🌈👀🎄☃️❄️

最終日は、みなが大好きな校外学習です。

「この駅にきたことあるかな？」

「乗り換えたらどこまでいけるのかな？」

電車の中でも先生達と会話が弾みます😆🚊

東芝未来科学館＠川崎へやってきました📻

「人と科学のふれあい」をコンセプトにした科学館です。

グループの一つが、年代順に展示されている家電のコーナーで話し込んでいました。

「古いテレビ」の前で、先生がレッスンをしていました📺

先生　「何に見える？」

生徒　「段ボール」

先生と生徒のやりとりが続きます。

「大きな機械が入っていたのかな」

「今は薄っぺらいよね」

「部品がなくなったのかな」

小学生が言いました。
「部品が小さくなったんじゃない？」

正解のひとつです！！👀👏

工作と同じで、工夫が必要で時間がかかります🕰️
「大きなものを小さくすることは難しい」と先生が話します。

科学技術の進歩を目で見ることができました！✨💻🔭

「エレベーター」など、知っている機械の中身を見ました。

スキャナー技術のブースで塗り絵をしました。

すぐにその絵がブラウザに表示されます。

「わたしの飛行機がとんでる！」と笑顔でおいかけます☺

学んだことをクイズで挑戦です。

帰りの電車の中で、「今日見たもの」について話しました。

大きな電話や洗濯機などを覚えていました。

「家に帰ったら、おじいちゃんやおばあちゃんにも聞いてみよう！」となりました。

Today, we had a blast exploring the Toshiba Science Museum! 🚀

The students delved into how cool technologies, like those behind water, electricity, railways, and elevators, play a huge role in our daily lives. It's mind-blowing to realize how much we rely on these innovations every single day! Not only that, We discovered the trailblazers of modern Japanese manufacturing and checked out the very first products Japan shared with the world as an electronics powerhouse. 🏭🌍

After our fantastic trip, we threw an epic pizza party! 🍕

We laughed and chatted about all the awesome stuff we saw at the museum. Later, everyone got down to wring their reflections, capturing the magic of the day! 📝
Today is our last day of the year , see you next year.

2週目となったウィンタースクールへようこそ！

今年のテーマは「エレメントの魔法　身近な要素の秘密」がテーマです。🌈👀🎄☃️❄️

小学生も加わって、教室はさらに賑やかになりました😀😀😀

今週最初のレッスンでは、先生がホワイトボードに

「ばらばらのアルファベット❓❓❓」を書きはじめました。

生徒達が読もうとしますが、単語としては意味がわかりません。

ABC順にも並んでいません📒🔤

このアルファベットは何かな・・・？

先生が、アルファベットひとつひとつが

「まわりにあるモノの元」をあらわしていることを話しました。

生徒達は、初めてみた周期表に興味深々です✏️😎

元素ってなぁに？からはじまり、

水素、酸素という目にみえない小さな粒で水が作られていること、

「水を使う」ということは、水素と酸素を使っていることだと学びました。

応用して冬の壁画作成に挑戦しました🧑‍🎨👏🎊

2週目も3日目となり、みなすっかり仲良しです。

毎日天気が良いので、外遊びも思いきり楽しめました🏃‍♀️🌈🤸‍♂️

Welcome to the second week of Winter School. Today we explored something super cool called the periodic table. It's like a special chart holding the secrets of all the tiny building blocks, called elements, that make up everything around us. We talked about how Hydrogen and Oxygen make water, and when water gets really cold, it turns into ice - something we all love in winter! Instead of ice skates, the students dipped their feet into paint and skated across the paper canvas. Their steps made colorful strokes for the winter mural's colorful background. It was messy and fun, with their tiny feet making snowy magical trails!

Our winter school program students engaged in physical activities such as running, jumping in a game of snake rope at South Ebara Park, providing a fun and interactive learning experience.
Additionally, we conducted a kid-friendly science experiment to create fake snow, which not only adds a fun element but also offers a valuable hands-on learning experience.

Day 3✏️🌈❄️☃️🚌♪

It's an incredible Wednesday!
I'm excited to tell you about the amazing adventure we had at South Ebara. We challenged our Winter School students to reach the snowflakes way up high, and it was a blast for them.
Our afternoon lesson was full of creativity and fun as everyone gathered to make awesome paper cup lanterns. Each one of them poured their imagination into designing their unique masterpiece. Thus, they will have a beautiful and unique decoration in their homes.

It's been an exciting day of learning and creativity, and we can't wait to explore more with your little ones tomorrow.

今年のウィンタースクールは「エレメントの魔法　身近な要素の秘密」がテーマです。🌈👀🎄☃️❄️

東京もいよいよ本格的な冬を迎えました！

それでも生徒達は毎朝元気にGood morning! と登校してくれます😆😆😆

「今日は元気かな」「朝ごはんは何を食べたかな」など、英語がとびかいます。

「寒い」「あったまる」など、冬にちなんだ言葉や表現を学習していますが、

生徒達がだいすきな言葉の一つに「雪」があります。

先生が「雪にも色々あるね、雪のつく言葉をいくつ知っているかな」と聞くと、

「雪だるま」「雪合戦」などの答えが返ってきました。

「ニュースで雪景色をみたよ！」と教えてくれた生徒もいました👀☃️

東京ではまだ雪が降っていないので、教室で「粉雪/powder snow」体験を楽しみました。

まだまだレッスンは続きます。

先生が「今日もとっても寒いね。どうしたら暖かくなるかなぁ」と質問をすると

「あったかいコートを着ればいい」

「手袋と帽子を使ってるから寒くないよ」

「エアコンで部屋をもっとあったかくしよう」

「あつあつのラーメンを食べる！」

面白い答えがたくさん返ってきました👀

そこで、みなで「暖かい場所づくり」に挑戦です！

風を通さないイグルーの中で、毛布やシーツを使えばもっとあったかい、

あつあつのココアを飲む、キャンプをすればもっとあったかい🔥、

焼きマシュマロもいっぺんに楽しんじゃおう！

と、欲張りの「あったかスペース」を完成させました。

サークルタイムでは、カレンダーの読み方や天気の表現を練習します。

覚えた生徒がみなの前で発表です☺

シーズナルプログラムでは、公園タイムも満喫します。

遊具の名前を覚えることからはじまり、みなで仲良く、安全に遊ぶためのルールや、

英語でおにごっこをしてたくさん走りました🏃🌳

Today's winter school was a blast! 🎉 The students gathered to reflect on their week's adventures. They had an absolute blast revisiting all they accomplished. Our Monday excursion was definitely a major highlight! 🚌✨ After completing our igloo, we dove into making snow just for the thrill of it. The students were utterly fascinated watching it grow right before their eyes! ❄️😮 And guess what? We also delved into learning exciting new winter words! 📚❄️ Come lunchtime, the students were in for a surprise—Santa had left them each a tiny letter tucked inside their backpacks! 🎅💌

Happy Friday! What a fantastic winter school week—we've had an absolute blast hanging out with all of you! This morning, we put the finishing touches on our adorable little igloo. Next up? Munching on some scrumptious marshmallows! And to sprinkle some Christmas magic, we dove into the story of The Gingerbread Man! The students were over the moon reading it together. Then, we dashed out to the park for some leg-stretching fun. The students were so wrapped up in all the action, they barely noticed the chilly weather. When we returned, we welcomed them back with steaming cups of hot chocolate to thaw out. Cheers to a cozy and eventful day!
