Macrobiotic cooking style is according to season. Oven cooking, like a Pumpkin gratin is suit for autumn and winter. Simmered and stew dishes are also good for autumn and winter. Brown rice cooks by Pressure cooker.

Ingredients are changed as well. I use more root vegetables, black bean and Azuki bean.

Macrobiotic style White Sauce

How to make my favorite White Sauce is

1. Sautéed the sliced onion with oil. Add sea salt that makes our sauce naturally sweet.

2. Add flour to (1). Continue to sautéed until flour was mixed equal to onion.

3. Add soy milk to (2) little by little then continue to stir for avoid lump.

4. Taste with Sea salt and pepper.


I make white sauce with onion because it’s easy to avoid lump and taste is naturally sweet. If sauce had the lump, you may use blender.

I use this sauce for Gratin, pasta and soup etc... If you mix basil paste with white sauce you may enjoy other taste.
